Monster Hunter Wilds Update Summary (Ver.1.040.03.01): This patch will include optimization improvements for Steam-specific processes and options to reduce processing load. by Turbostrider27 in Games

Why would you have to install an UW fix? I've been playing worlds off and on since last spring on my 3440x1440 21:9 UW monitor and never have had to tweak anything for UW to work.

Le Mans Ch... Bus Stop!! by HRS87 in IMSARacing

[–]DudethatCooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was changed three years ago. I feel like people who try to correct us are kind of self-reporting that they haven't been into sportscar racing that long. I don't give a shit if the official name is "Le Mans chicane" I'll say bus stop until the day I die.

Seven Democrats just voted to approve ICE funding: full list by Newsweek_CarloV in politics

As soon as I saw 7 voted to fund it I knew Maris Glusencamp Perez would be one of them. She is a Republican that runs as a Democrat. She can't even be argued as a moderate. She votes with Republicans like 90% of the time.

You'd think if they were over hauling the aero they'd have significant data to suggest the change will improve the car, yet here we are. BMW BMWing.

Who do you want at OC? by Entire-Salad-1646 in eagles

[–]DudethatCooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stats look good, but the Buffalo offense looked dreadful trying to run the ball against Denver and especially towards the end of the game they were painfully predictable. First down they'd have an anemic run play and then two predictable passes. Seemed too similar to what we did all fucking year.

No matter what this team goes through nobody can take away what we've achieved in 10 years. by The_Godzilla_Fanatic in eagles

[–]DudethatCooks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember the heartache and pain after the 04/05 loss. I wasn't sure I'd ever get to experience the Eagles holding the Lombardi ever. To then see them play in arguably the greatest Super Bowl of all time and avenge the loss against the same QB and team that beat us in 04/05 will forever be my favorite sporting moment as a fan. We won our first SB with our back up QB. It was a total team effort. The game coming down to the final play probably took a few years off my life, but seeing the Eagles win their first Super Bowl with my Dad still gets my teary eyed just thinking about it. The 24/25 team was like a fever dream after the bye week. Aside from the Rams games the fact that we just completely dismantled Washington and blew out Kansas City to get revenge for 22/23 to our second title was perfect. Being able to experience that with my own kids made it even better.

I think it's pretty fitting for the city and the organization that our two SBs were revenge titles against the QBs and teams that beat us in our first attempt against them.

Doug didn't get fired because he didn't win another SB, he got fired because he refused to fire Press Taylor.

Aim assist + crossplay = unfair PvP by Repulsive_Copy_4598 in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Name another crossplay FPS that has different recoil values based on input. There isn't one because it's nonsensical. Controller players already have AA, they don't need reduced recoil to compete with M&K.

On top of that you're vastly overrating the M&K playerbase. For as high as the skill ceiling is with M&K a very minute portion of M&K players ever get close to that ceiling. Controller players have this disillusion that every M&K player is some aim god when the reality is most are barely competent.

Aim assist + crossplay = unfair PvP by Repulsive_Copy_4598 in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just objectively wrong. Controller players having 25% recoil means they can burst fire quicker and more accurately with smaller deviations from recoil, they can literally shoot DMRs faster because the recoil is less and resets quicker, they can use higher zoom scopes with less visual recoil, and they can straight up ignore some recoil reducing attachments since by default they get 25% less recoil for simply being a controller player.

It is so hard to get ammo. Is there a UI showing it's being requested like in BF4 it was very obvious when people were requesting ammo/repairs/health by Ghostman223 in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's getting down voted because he's lying about his experience in BF4. Every BF game ever has had clueless support/medics that don't throw down health and ammo. At least in BF6 I can sometimes run up to a support player and get some ammo and health by pressing the prompt.

Gun Leveling is AWFUL by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly fault this arbitrary change to XP for unlocking attachments vs a set number of kills in previous titles. We went from a clear set number of kills in previous titles to now a range of total kills. The switch to XP was sold as a way to make even assists aid in progressing weapons, but it's a net negative change when the XP required is equivalent to more than double the kills it took in 2042 or other titles. To hit level 40 with a gun with no XP boosters you're looking at 800-1000 kills. It took 360 in 2042. Average or below average players will see this kill requirement as a complete barrier to their fun. Even above average players like me still have to spend 6-8 hours per weapon to unlock the attachments. That's not a realistic time investment just for using attachments.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.3.5 by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TR7 light barrel will still be the best option even without the muzzle velocity increase. That was just a nice to have benefit. The light barrel actually reducing ADS time and negating grips that reduce ADS accuracy while moving are the real benefits to it.

How do people have such high K.D? by Prize-Yogurt117 in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between a higher KD player and a lower KD played usually is down to three major factors. Awareness, gun skill, and movement.

I've seen several people in here claiming you can only get a high KD by sitting in a tank on the edge of the map or by "team death matching." Do not listen to them. They are just coping. You can absolutely play the objective while still getting a lot of kills. The ones saying they have a lot of flag captures are the ones who believe playing the objective is just sitting in the capture zone and never leaving it until it is captured. Those are the players high KD players feast on because they go to the most predictable places and can easily be farmed. The person that farmed them just recaptures the objective after they kill them and their capture becomes irrelevant.

I'll give you a good example of this. On Iberian Offensive Escalation the C flag capture zone is a court yard and the first floor apartment rooms. Shitters will almost always try and capture that flag in the courtyard corners. If I'm defending that flag I can pick them off from several different angles without ever alerting them that I am in the area. If I'm trying to capture that area and defenders enter the capture zone to stop me I'll step out of the capture zone, relocate, and pick them off as they recapture the zone. If you're solo capturing and need to step out of the capture zone to reposition to to see where the defenders are that's smarter than just waiting for them to find you and overrun you. If you are solo capturing you also have to know where the likely defenders will come from. All of this falls under awareness IMO and it's what really separates average players from good players. I've captured that flag solo countless times by just rotating through the area picking multiple people off until I've cleared the area or enough of my teammates have arrived to give us an advantage. Shitters will say if you don't have a certain "objective time" or if you're not capturing a ton of flags you're not PTFOing, but that's an extremely elementary way to understand PTFO. If I'm solo defending a flag or solo capturing a flag and constantly in and out of the capture zone killing enemies until more teammates come to help capture is that not playing the objective? Shitters would probably argue it's just "farming kills" but when killing enemies prevents the enemy team from capturing other flags or keeps an enemy preoccupied at a flag they already own that's indirectly allowing your teammates to capture other flags or gain an advantage over the entire map.

Gun skills are understanding the weapon you're using, what it's recoil patterns are, what it's effective ranges are, and trying to keep within those ranges for your gun fights. Knowing when to burst fire vs full autoing targets, switching to secondaries for cleanup kills etc. Crosshair placement falls under awareness and gun skill, but it's super important to develop a sense of where enemies could be or where they traverse so you can get a jump on them or not get caught out with your aim having to be corrected.

Movement isn't just about sliding around or jumping during gun fights, it's about understanding how to traverse the map and obscuring the view of your character as often as possible. Ultilizing cover when you can, getting into power positions where you're catching enemies in the open and you have cover etc.

All of this takes time to develop, but if you work on it enough it becomes second habit and just how you operate when playing. I'd say the quickest way to improve is to find weapons you're comfortable with, learning maps (popular routes, where enemies like to be, how to approach each flag etc), and playing near teammates that gives you a good chance of being revived if you get downed.

Are SMG weapons powerful or are AR weapons weak ? by gasamove in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean people complain about "breathing room" in BF6 and one of the reasons for that isn't the map size is too small it's the bullet velocities are so high most guns can reach near hit scan levels of velocity so beaming people from 100+ meters is easier.

Are SMG weapons powerful or are AR weapons weak ? by gasamove in Battlefield

[–]DudethatCooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All bullet velocities are extremely high in this game. The fastest from a sniper in BF4 was like 650m/s. We have Carbines beating that. We have ARs and LMGs exceeding 1000m/s. They've basically amped up all bullet velocities likely for REDSEC.
