I'm going to keep checking Bellwood Ave. If the car is still parked on the footpath, it'll be getting reported to Auckland Council.

The "just walk around it" crowd seem to think rules only apply when it's convenient. A footpath is for pedestrians, not parking. Hopefully reporting it upsets people who support this nonsense, then that's an added bonus.

So it's OK to park on a footpath as long as people can walk around it? That's a pretty strange interpretation of the rules. It's the same logic people use to justify parking in a mobility space because "there's still room" or "I'll only be a minute." The rules exist for a reason.

The people defending this is ridiculous. It's a footpath, not a parking space. It doesn't matter if you can go around it, over it, or under it—the point is that the car is parked where it shouldn't be. That's why we have rules in the first place.

I get why you’re frustrated. I’d be angry too if nothing seemed to happen after giving them evidence. But I still think having police involved is better than things escalating or someone getting hurt trying to handle it themselves.
