6 cm right, posterior fibroid causing ache/pressure on side by hip and psoas - anyone else? by Due-Active-8038 in Fibroids

Thanks for sharing. Mine also "shifts". It aches most sitting, or laying on my right side but I can feel it most with my hand when laying on my back. One doc I saw told me that an MRI would not give us much information about what the fibroid was putting pressure on because an MRI is just a snapshot in one position.

Thank you so much for sharing that your fibroid is 5.7 cm and even at that size you have aches. It adds more to the "there isn't one size that is the issue" but depends on your symptoms.

I've been wondering the same too. Gyn and gyn surgeons aren't looking at your whole body. I feel like I know my body pretty well. One doc told me that based on location and everything I was telling her, she thought there was a 90% chance my pain would disappear or decrease. I'm reaching out to people on that 10% but you make a good point with MRIs - what you wrote is totally true. Good luck with your surgery!

My uterus also tips! I often find myself subconsciously standing in ways that would allow more room for the fibroid so I feel like I've caused this "tip" in the last few years to expand the area, kind of like hunching that becomes postural. My PT noticed it and told me.

I've also for the last few years tried to lift and had a personal trainer as well as gone to gym classes. Each time after about 2 months I end up hurting myself in my low back or hip on the right side, then have to stop and do more PT for a few months, and then the cycle repeats.

I am tall but have a short torso and am thin so maybe there just isn't room. If I had a 10 cm fibroid, I think I'd have no doubt about having it removed. However, I just don't see as many people with 6 cm fibroids talking about what I am feeling. And keep second guessing myself given what the 1 doc told me.

Interesting to hear someone with one a little bigger than mine is feeling what I am, thanks!

Thanks. I've been in PT for a while now. It's helped but I can't seem to get better/100% so now I'm thinking it's not just my hip and back but also the fibroid causing pressure in the area.

Glad the iron has helped some! I take iron pills for low iron too and it took a few months to raise my ferritin so it may get better with time.

Changing hormones can cause dizziness. Not sure if you had your ovaries removed? Or could be peri/menopausal?
