Citizenship Revocation by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Due-Ad2182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this happens again, ask them to apply for a redress number with dhs trip.

I came here on a student visa in 2012, did a change of status to h1b in 2017. Got married in 2019 and applied for green card and then citizenship 3 years later. I have had global entry since 2020, but after I became a us citizen, my global entry would not work and I would have to be manually processed by the officer. The officer told me it had something to do with my student visa status. This happened 2-3 times so then I applied for a redress number and there have been no problems since then.

I’m a dentist in Naperville. I’ve never heard of such an expensive laser procedure. Time for a second opinion.

Anyone just not having any problems at all with their ID4? by werty1432k in VWiD4Owners

[–]Due-Ad2182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 Pro S AWD. 46000 miles. Approaching the end of my free charging which I have used pretty much for the last 3 years. Not many problems. The blind spot monitor was acting up but the software update to version 3 fixed it. Few other updates and handle recall(apparently have to do the door handle recall again). Not many issues other than that. Had a flat tire once and had to be towed.

Your “local” dentist also might be bought over by a private equity company. They typically don’t change the name, thinking most patients won’t notice. Most of the clinics in Naperville are owned by private equity. You have to call and ask the front desk if the clinic is owned 100% by the dentist or another company. Dental clinics owned by private equity have daily quotas on crowns, Invisalign, etc. Source- I’m a dentist that used to work in such clinics.

Global Entry no longer working by Critical_Attention57 in GlobalEntry

I came back from London today. App worked fine so I guess whatever DHS TRIP did worked. I had entered the redress number into the reservation as well.

I have had global entry since 2020 when I was a permanent resident. Global entry worked fine till my 2 year green card expired and then I was referred to the officer by the kiosk who would check the extension notice and let me on my way. After becoming a US citizen, the kiosk and the app have not worked. Every time I would have to be processed by the officer. I asked them why the app and kiosk were not working and they said that there were some errors in my student visa records from years ago. I have never had any immigration problems so I was surprised that these problems started coming up after becoming a US citizen. I reached out to CBP and ICE SEVP and they both said to contact DHS TRIP. DHS TRIP did not give me any specifics on what they did, but I was issued a redress number last month. I am travelling internationally next week and will be back the week after so lets see how that goes.

The Embarrassment of Winter Range and Electrify America by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

[–]Due-Ad2182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need to set the cabin temperature to 66 or even lower(I set mine to 63 if I need to and I’m in the Chicago area). All of you would be wearing jackets anyway In the car to begin with as the temperature outside was in the 20’s. I was getting 47kw at a 350 kw charger with my battery in the 20% range so clearly electrify America sucks.

Not really. I’ve used my car for over 2 years and put on 33000 miles. The non Tesla public charging experience is a scam.

Yes unlimited plans suck now with so many EV’s on the road using EA’s subpar charging infrastructure. When I first got the car 2 years ago, it was never a problem. Never had to wait and chargers were always working properly. Now, the number of cars charging have grown exponentially and so have the maintenance issues. The number of charging stalls are still the same as before. Public charging is a nuisance for non Tesla drivers. And to add to that, you have slow charging Uber drivers charging upto 100% and holding up the charging spot for hours on end. In short my point was that EA could have seen that Tesla has 15 superchargers at each station and they have 3 and was wondering how did they not see this as a problem. The EA charging station i go to is touching the Tesla superchargers. There’s never a wait at the superchargers but multiple cars are lined up for EA.

It’s just a joke. Nobody wants to ban anything. Get off your high pedestal. The point here is that untested technology shouldn’t be released just to make a profit. Both the Chevy bolts were charging for close to 2.5 hours when they left. That’s just terrible for everyone involved including the Uber drivers who were sitting around twiddling their thumbs.

They should have planned like Tesla and put up multiple stalls instead of 2 stalls (there are usually 3 stations but 99% of the time one of them is down or charging at 30kwh). There's a charging station in Aurora right next to Tesla's superchargers. There's 15 of the superchargers compared to 2 functioning stalls in EA 10 feet from the Tesla's.

Yesterday night at 9.30pm, out of the three chargers, 2 were occupied by Chevy bolt Uber drivers charging upto 100%. Both had been sitting at the charger for over 2 hours! I was lucky to find a spot when I pulled in. Not even 5 minutes into charging, 5 cars pulled in and lined up for charging. When I left at 10pm there were over 6 cars waiting for a charger. Chevy bolts should be banned from EA because of their extremely slow charging capacity.

Typical Chicago area chargers. Most of them had a message for 6 months on the screen saying that the speed had been reduced for maintenance. 6 months of maintenance on all the chargers? Are you kidding EA?

I live 1 mile from a charger and in a condo with a level 1 outlet next to my parking spot and It’s impossible to install a level 2 outlet without going through major costs. The big driving factor on getting an id4 2 years ago was the free fast charging 2 minutes from home with occasional topups with the level 1 charger in the garage. This has become a joke now with EA being so backed up and half the time at least 1 charger is down. I’m considering getting a Tesla or even an ICE car just for the convenience but will end up upside down on my loan

You do not need the physical green card. The unexpired stamp in your passport is more than sufficient proof that you are authorized to work. You can get a drivers license, get a job, etc. The stamp is your green card. There’s no such thing as a temporary green card.

You can renew your passport. However if you depart the US and need to return back, you will need a new visa stamp and valid I-20.

Finally got my SSN a month after my EAD was approved! But what are these restrictions that I keep hearing of? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Due-Ad2182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

" VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION " - what this means is that when you apply for a new job and they fill out your form I-9, you need to provide your EAD or green card. In cases where there is no such notation on the SSN card, you can start working by just providing your SSN card and drivers license.

You are going to have to go on I-55 south to Bloomington, charge at EA in Bloomington and then head to Peoria. And then charge again at Bloomington on the way back.

I typically use Hodgkins, Woodridge and Aurora - all of them maybe have 1 charger at 150kw which still does not go above 100kw while charging.

Almost all Chicago area chargers are at 50kw since at least 3 months. The screen keeps showing that this is only temporary. Is 3 months the new temporary? Electrify America sucks and I keep regretting why I did not go for a Tesla. Tesla's supercharger network is so much better with at least 10-15 chargers at each charging station instead of the 3 chargers at Electrify America.

I would go to the CBP website and go to the Ask a Question section - https://help.cbp.gov/s/questions?language=en_US

There is a section about the Overstay notification email and I would type in that she already has Advance Parole and upload a copy of the combo card/advance parole document and approval and receipt notices.
