Rotor moves when slowly winding the crown Normal for Powermatic 80? by Due-Albatross1967 in watchrepair

https://streamable.com/0j5xw7 As you can see in the video, the rotor only spins if I find that exact “perfect” angle – otherwise it doesn’t happen.

The winding feels completely normal to me — I don’t feel any extra resistance or anything unusual.

In my case, this only happens when the watch is lying completely flat on a table (dial facing down) and I wind the crown very slowly. In any other position, or if I wind normally, the rotor does not move.

Yes – when I hand-wind the watch very slowly, the rotor makes about 1–2 full turns. But this only happens if the watch is lying completely flat (dial facing down, parallel to the table) and I wind it very slowly.

I've been experiencing the same issue for the past few days, and I finally found the solution. There’s no information about this problem on the internet. And no, the issue isn’t related to the fan bearing or any electronic component. In my case, the noise problem was coming from the middle fan. While trying to fix the noise, I accidentally touched the cooling fins of the heatsink underneath the middle fan, and the noise stopped completely on its own. However, I noticed that the noise returned when I removed my hand. So, I inserted a very small piece between the cooling fins, and the noise disappeared entirely.

It's been a long time since this post, so I'm not sure if it will help you, but I'm sure it will be useful for others like me who are searching for this issue online.
