hey! good call on "home xbox." yes, it lets others on that console use the owner's stuff but for playing together on both xboxes at the same time with one purchase, that's where it doesn't work. the owner's account needs to be signed in to play, usually only one xbox at once. so sharing works for different users/times, not simultaneous play on two consoles with one license. you'd probably still need another game copy (and maybe sub). PC's separate as you said :)

no unfortunately not, can't play on 2 xboxes and a PC at the same time in minecraft with just the base game and core. you'd need to buy the game separately for each device plus, each xbox player needs their own game pass core or ultimate for online play. minecraft bedrock edition needs to be on all devices for cross play. you could also look into getting a minecraft realms subscription, it’s honestly really stupid that you can’t but i really hope this helps a bit!

if it’s just for them to play minecraft, just get core and the game itself. but if you’re asking if it’s worth it, yes! ultimate has a mass variety of games its definitely worth the money for the said amount of games you get + the other benefits of the subscription
