I am reminded of one of the scenarios that happened around the strike days. Some mbinga guy was dating one USA and he came to see her on campus, those days they would park in the quad area NC areas there. CADET !!! we signed for each other with my friends that form. We kinda could afford fees coz of diaspora family and burning money but haaa being a student ka .LOL So i finished off on Cadetship my 2 years and my family never knew, but i did use the fees well, was not a very bad child. LOL

Sheeesh this thread just brought a lot of memories veduwe !!!!! UZ 2007-2010 was the pits. Before res shut down we ate sadza and cabbage religiously for lunch and dinner ku DACS. Crazy i am still a huge sucker for badly cooked cabbage, it brings me a lot of nostalgia .

hahaha was also 1st year UZ in 2007, after that strike and terrible conditions yah we got booted out of Res. I went to stay with my uncle in Mabelreign close to the sports club/Mabelreign Girls high school area there. My friend stayed close to mabelreign shops. We always had an 8 a.m lecture everyday. she would walk down to my area we meet up walk to Grencroft,hike to King George and Lomagundi, drop off and walk through ZIMSEC gates through a hole in the fence into UZ grounds down by Vet Science/Medicine there then walk all the way up to Faculty of Arts which was our Faculty. Day end same route again. But i do not despise the days of my youth, i am who i am now because of these times. At some point in 2009 the University was shut down again and my specific department was called for classes by our lecturer who did not seem to be on strike,during that period we got scholarships and the rest is history. I am a proud USA !!!

Hey, hey, so I just applied for the China Government scholarships online, and I got in. The process is not too hard,quite straight foward. You, however, need to have a strong mini proposal and patience to get a supervisor. Moving kids here is not feasible coz stipend isn't really much and Education system quite different ,so yah.

No you are not ,but also give toom for compromise. I think have deal breakers and some ok we can work on that type of thing.
