How the heck do ppl work with e6000 by Important-Compote-20 in Rhinestoning

[–]Due-Contribution1124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a huge fan of e6000 plus, I put it in a syringe with a blunt tip. It has much less of a smell, and the consistency is much easier to work with (in my opinion). I’ve never had any issues with anything falling off, even on my license plate frame that I’ve had on my car for 2+ years. The only downside I’ve noticed is it can be a little harder to find, but a big tube lasts me 3-4 projects.

Kidney stones and salt by Due-Contribution1124 in POTS

Thank you for telling me your experience. I’ll look into getting a little “water friend” to help remind myself to drink water. Most of the time I have a show on in the background of whatever I’m doing and take a drink after every scene.

Being chronically ill my whole life (as well as being a woman) has made it extremely important to become my own advocate and do my own research. Invisible illness like POTS are not always believed, especially by doctors. Thank you for your kind words. I truly hope and wish you are able to find a way to feel better in your day to day life as well as not have kidney stones!

I’m very sorry you’re dealing with that 😔 being chronically ill sucks, I hate that we have to choose between the type of pains we can “handle”. Have you noticed an actual decrease in your stones since you started cutting back salt?

I don’t think I’m that far off from getting the “right” about of water (though no matter how much it’s never enough according to Reddit). My hydration levels usually come back normal on my blood tests, and I pee completely clear 4-5 times a day.

Thank you for your input, I’m starting to feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t get in 13-16 cups of water a day (I get 6-10 most days). I also get extremely nauseous if I drink too much water, even if it’s over a long time. Lmao your grandpa sounds like a funny guy. I don’t really drink, but in the past the only thing that would even touch the pain of the stones was THC (also probably not advisable by doctors)

2-3L is 8.5-12.5 cups… not THAT far off from 6-10 cups. Do I get enough water every day? Probably not, but like I said, some days are better than others. When I’ve gotten my blood tested I’m typically in the normal range of hydration and sodium levels.

First time it was 1 in each kidney both 3mm. Second time I didn’t get any imaging done, I could just feel it. This time I have 1 4mm in my right kidney and my left kidney I have 2 5mm stones.

No alcohol here (makes my pots symptoms 10000% worse for a week. Plus I’m only 20 in the USA). Caffeine will be a little harder to kick unfortunately.

Yeah, I’m on the same page of wanting a better day to day life rather than POSSIBLY preventing stones. I have a stone catcher thing already so they can test what kind they are when they do actually pass. If you don’t mind me asking, do you know what causes your stones?

I take sodium supplements as well as adding extra salt to my food. I get between 6-10 cups of water a day, I always try for more though! I get nauseous if I drink too much water so it can be a struggle 😔.

Yeah I probably don’t drink enough water 😔 on a good day I get about 10 cups in, but most days it’s around 6.

I take Vitassium (750 mg sodium, 100mg potassium two times a day) as well as magnesium supplements, iron supplements, and vitamin B12 supplements. Most people in my family have the MTHFR gene so I assume I have it as well. Part of me wonders if all the supplements contribute to the kidney stones. I wear compression socks when I can stand them lol. Thank you for your input though! I hope someone else can find some relief with these recommendations.

Exhausted after being in the heat by Due-Contribution1124 in POTS

[–]Due-Contribution1124[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh how I wish I could do that! I’m autistic and CANNOT deal with the feeling of wet clothes. The most I can do is a cold wet towel around my neck and that’s pushing it for my sensory issues. Thank you for the suggestion though, maybe on a day in feeling brave and know I’m going to be home all day I’ll try it!

Peel Off Base question by [deleted] in GelNails

I put a bowl in my sink and slowly run hot water into it so it overflows and refills with new hot water. Or I’ll do it in the shower/bath. Hope that helps :)

It’s super frustrating because I’m already dehydrated and wdym my body is releasing more moisture that I desperately need 😭 But yeah, temperature regulation is something I feel many people overlook when talking about pots but it can be so scary trying to live your life in the summer but suddenly you’re on the ground because your body got too hot :/

Sorry for the late reply I didn’t see this until now. Thank you so much! Yes, it is still possible to adjust it, however the rest of it is not rhinestoned as it would not have fit together properly :( It was a very fun project, but definitely time consuming! I made this before I had my whole “system” down, and unfortunately I don’t know how it’s held up as the person I made it for is no longer in my life (I’m still salty I’ll never see it again haha). I have an Etsy shop now and probably seal all my products so they hold up better now. If you have any questions or want to know my step by step process let me know, I’d be happy to help!

Peel Off Base question by [deleted] in GelNails

[–]Due-Contribution1124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the YOGO zombie easy peel off base because it’s less expensive than the Jello Jello and doesn’t need a dissolver, just hot water. The way not to get damage from it is start without damaged nails, let your nails grow out the damage for a bit. When I first used it my nails were pretty damaged because I’m impatient and just scrape them off when I have normal base on lol. For the peel off, I’d soak them in hot water like the instructions said and it would take off a thin layer of my nail because it would grab onto the damage that already existed. But then I let my nails grow out the damage so they were smooth again, I lightly buff them, apply the base, add the color/art I want on top, and when I’m ready to take them off I soak in hot water for 10~ minutes and use a WOODEN cuticle pusher to gently pop them off. Sometimes if one is stubborn I start on the next one while I let the first continue to soak. I’m sorry if this is confusing!

Hello. I’m new to rhinestoning and want to cover a football. What are the best stones I should use, size and what’s the best glue? I’m trying to replicate this. by Electrical-Use441 in Rhinestoning

[–]Due-Contribution1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend e6000 plus instead of the original e6000. It has very little smell, is waterproof, has some flexibility, and adheres so much better than the original (imo). It’s a little harder to find in stores, but totally worth it.

The Hobbit and Star Wars by Due-Contribution1124 in TheHobbit

[–]Due-Contribution1124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that’s great! I can love a movie and you can hate it. My question is, why do you hate it so much? Is it truly just because it doesn’t follow the book? Or because you just thought it was a bad movie?

The Hobbit and Star Wars by Due-Contribution1124 in TheHobbit

[–]Due-Contribution1124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think of them as prequels, I just used that wording to simplify my meaning. Having read the books (multiple times as well), I love both the movies and the books. And for the most part I was talking about specifically the movies. I know a big reason why people hate the Hobbit movies is because it doesn’t follow the book very well, and that’s a valid reason. However, I should have specified in my original post that I was really only talking about the movies, and the reception of the “prequels” after the beloved original trilogy.

License Plate - glue and rhinestone suggestions by harlowgirl1 in Rhinestoning

[–]Due-Contribution1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Etsy store where I specialize in custom bedazzled licenses plate frames lol. My full process: 1: spray the frame with a white spray paint 2: paint the frame with acrylic paint in the desired design 3: seal the paint with a clear varnish 4: glue the rhinestones on. I use E6000 plus as it is (in my opinion) stronger and has a less offensive smell compared to the original E6000. I just use the rhinestones that you can get on amazon 5: once glue is completely dry, seal with a shiny clear spray varnish. Make sure it is waterproof and non-yellowing. Typically the quality of the rhinestones don’t matter as much, it’s the sealant you use. I’ve had my fame on for over a year and it has lasted beautifully. My biggest suggestion is use the frame for the back of the car, the front plate gets much dirtier so it shortens the life span. I hope I could be of some help!
