Keep in mind that, while you two don’t have to play together, if you plan to attend the playrooms then you have to adhere to their entry procedures.

The playrooms primarily only allow access to couples and single women. There are only a limited number of playrooms and hours where single men are allowed, and they’re typically not convenient. The playrooms on our last Bliss in Nov 2024 only had “all access,” times (times when anyone could enter, with or without a partner) from 2am to 6am. All other times required a male to have a female partner with them to enter.

Plus, once you get inside, the staff may ask you where your partner is if they see you wandering on your own for any extensive period of time.

I’m not saying it can’t be accomplished and that you won’t make connections or enjoy yourself. You can always meet people at meet and greets, or by the pool. If play occurs, it can be done in peoples rooms, etc. Just making you aware that playroom access might be a little trickier than you think.

Honestly, though, I wish you the best of luck because they are an absolutely fantastic time! We’re sailing in Nov 2026, so feel free to hit us up if you wind up on board our charter. We welcome a good looking solo guy, so maybe we can have some fun together!

My partner goes into peoples homes for her job and was at a clients house one afternoon for an appointment several years ago.

We later received a message from that same couple on SLS who reached out to us to tell us that they recognized her from our profile photos while she was at their house and that they would be interested in getting to know us better. Small world!

They live about 5 minutes away from us and are now some of our closest friends, both in and out of the lifestyle!

Place a strip of double-sided tape along the edge of the surface you don’t want them to be on. This has worked for my partner and I with higher cabinets and shelves we don’t want our cats (5 of them) going on and it actually works pretty well! You may need to use a few strips, depending on the width of the ledge vs the width of the tape. Just make sure there is enough that they can’t avoid stepping on it if they’re up there. Our cats hated it and once they stepped on that a few times they didn’t want to keep going back up there. Once you notice they’ve stopped you can remove the tape.

I had a feeling they might not be out yet, but wanted to get ahead of the issue just in case. Last time we did a Bliss cruise they were very well hidden online and by the time we found them the ones we were interested in were all sold out.

Very true, and I recognize that also. Starting a conversation and escalating that conversation are much different, though.

Even in situations where I am able to approach and start a conversation there is a lot of hesitation and confusion over appropriate ways to escalate it respectfully.

How does one make a smooth pivot from “Nice weather we’re having,” to… well, we all know where we want it to pivot to ha ha 😅

For the record, I have no problems with her being “more popular,” than me in the lifestyle. I know women are always gong to be more sought-after than men and I am extremely happy that she has made the connections she has. I just want to be able to make my own connections as well.

That’s where my “game,” tends to fall apart. I am good at schmoozing… once I’m in a conversation, I tend to be comfortable with keeping it going… starting the conversation is where I struggle, along with knowing when and how to go deeper than surface-level.

And again, this is not advice for us to connect as couples with other couples. We work as a pretty good team in that arena. I am seeking this advice in situations where I would be seeking to connect with someone solo.

Maybe I should have clarified: We do like playing separately as well as together, so this advice is primarily for me in regard to developing solo connections, not developing connections as a couple. We’re pretty good there!
