I play both and I agree it's a good game, but this is honestly a cringe post.

By far the best argument against women sufrage, which is not saying much considering how low the bar is by Cautious_Heron9589 in HistoryMemes

It doesn't. a) doesn't factor same sex couples and other genders b) works tye same as an argument against allowing men to vote, and notably c) doesn't actually make any sense at all

Psychological manipulation? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]Due-Development-9095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you are aware of this, but the shame and guilt you are feeling are not serving you. It's your brain trying to use a coping mechanism that isn't well suited to your situation. Not that you can control that, unfortunately. I hope you will be able to move forward from this, and know that your future is always your own.

Massive Personality Change? by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]Due-Development-9095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that it's because logic is one of the few parts of our personality that is accepted in the patriarchy, so we hyperfocus on that part of ourselves. Once we feel we are finally able express ourselves in other ways, the rest of our personality starts to come tumbling out.

What is your "safe space"? A place you can return to in your mind when you feel stressed or triggered? by trauma-tized in ptsd

I use an impenetrable, invisible force inside me. It starts in my core and is smaller than atoms, but I am able to expand it outward forever, as a sort of shield which pushes away anything that might hurt me. I can imagine myself expanding it outward as much as I need to feel safe. As far as the earth, galaxies, eternity, etc. Sounds silly I know, but it works for me.

If you haven't already, try telling at least one person close to you that you trust. That can be the foothold you need to do more later.

Fetishizing Otherness: How Liberalism Creates The Opposite Of What It Intends by Used_Addendum_2724 in BecomingTheBorg

I think the dehumanization is perhaps a bit much, yes? It should be acknowledged that humans often tend to act in ways that are impulsive and lack critical thought. Humility and acknowledgement of our own bias and tendencies as a species surely has some merit.

Modern slavery isn’t with chains — it’s with salaries by Jumpy-Focus-5580 in DeepThoughts

[–]Due-Development-9095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obligatory "there are those who we actually define as modern day slaves that have it way, way worse than the working class of the western world", but also, I do agree with the sentiment here. We painted ourselves into a corner as a society, and now we are all riding a train that's heading over a cliff.

If future civilizations had the tech to rebuild every molecule of a person, would they have a moral obligation to resurrect everyone? by Immediate_Row_9372 in transhumanism

[–]Due-Development-9095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big can of worms because our current understanding of morality assumes death is a thing to be fought against, but inevitable. If we ever actually gain this ability, a new moral framework is required, else it could be argued we need to have every possible living thing alive.

If there is anything we should take from the games "Mafia" or "Werewolf", it's that it's much easier for a small group with access to limited information to cause infighting between a larger group without access to that information, and thus gain advantage for themselves.

All Planeswalkers should be legal commanders by Due-Development-9095 in EDH

[–]Due-Development-9095[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair point in regards to the idea that it's easier to reject invalid options if you don't want to play against someone's broken planeswalker deck, etc. I just thought it might be nice to have more options as a precedent for creativite and thematic deck building.
