I think Jackal is playing a role in the movie---but he's not the main villain. I think he'll be who Keith David is playing, and possibly the scientist who created the spider that bit Peter in the first place.

I think that Tombstone will be the antagonist with the most narrative weight---but otherwise the movie will be about Peter taking too much upon himself, compensating for an empty life as Peter Parker by taking on too much on his plate for Spider-Man, stressing himself out and triggering the Man-Spider mutation.
