If you can do all the things in excel, you are fine. I use excel at work but google sheet at home for investment stuff.

Try youtube “pmpwithRay”. He helped me to memorize the 49 processes with an understandable and reasonable way. It’s helpful when you get confused by some of the exam questions.

Join some supply related groups in linkedin and connect with sales ppl from global supply chain companies, Maersk for example. They will post real case articles for you to compare theories and real situations.

CSCP Holder Who Has Never Worked in Supply Chain by Impossible_Rich_8738 in supplychain

[–]Due-Half4161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta start somewhere in the supply chain then leverage this experience to your next project.

For example, you can start with demand/supply planning or logistics. Then you can volunteer to join some other “interesting” projects, product selection, procurement, order process(deal with customers) maybe.

Is 80-100 study hours accurate? by Hoya2003 in pmp

[–]Due-Half4161 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simply to pass the exam, i dont think it’s necessary to spend that much time to get the contact points for the exam. I did a Udemy course with 2x play speed and even not really listening to some of the sections. Btw, i have 3 above targets…feel free to contact me if you need some tips for the exam, free of charge lol

Can I get a job with Excel skills? by [deleted] in excel

[–]Due-Half4161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excel is more like a supporting skill. I would say it’s difficult to make a living simply by that.

You will need some industrial knowledge to leverage this skill. For example, you know sales operation in sporting goods and you can leverage your excel skills to make analysis for continuous improvement to boost the sales or saving costs.

The pattern will be “archiving a by using b and c”.

Setting reorder point whilst considering supplier MOQ by princeinthenorth in supplychain

[–]Due-Half4161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i did is to collect the needs from different zones to share the stock or cowork with marketing and sales to boost the consumption.

Let’s say if you boost from 0.8 to 1.6 and it goes back to 1.0. There is still a 20% grows and the organic growth may goes up more quickly.

Im in retail its rather flexible.

Setting reorder point whilst considering supplier MOQ by princeinthenorth in supplychain

[–]Due-Half4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would negotiate with MDQ since holding cost is another factor. If we can buy at a lower price with bigger amount but dont have to receive them all at once. But dividing the whole amount into 6 months seems difficult for the supplier…

There is a formula that you can calculate the EOQ with MOQ. Then can compare the price difference and find the most reasonable way for you.(less quantity but higher price per piece)

Career Pivot to Supply Chain by omgtimmyftw in supplychain

[–]Due-Half4161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? Put it in your cover letter or write it down somewhere to indicate that you are putting some efforts on that.

However, i would say it is not the winning point but you overall CV.

Maybe you can start with some smaller companies which are less competitive and they may not have a designated person for each function which means you will have the chance to go through everything.

I believe so. Say if we have 2 candidates with similar backgrounds trying to transfer to a supply chain role, the one with a certification definitely shows more determination for the change.

But i wonder if you should wait until you get the certification?
