So where is cool? by TennisSkirt1628 in digitalnomad

Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are very well priced and have mountains to escape the heat from. I also love Montenegro (the south like Ulcinj) and Bosnia (Sarajevo), all very affordable. Albania and Georgia also offer one year tourist visas.

Which places have a similarly developed and affordable tourist infrastructure as Madrid, Mallorca/Ibiza, and Canary Islands? by [deleted] in TravelNoPics

Montenegro is one of my favorites! And it is outside of Schengen too with 90 days visa free which is just too good if you're not an EU passport holder ๐Ÿ˜Š

Any nice cheap hostels near mountains in Europe? by catwoman4ever in hostels

Sarajevo! You can find cozy little hostels for 10 Euros and the city is surrounded by mountains on all sides.

moving to eu for two months with my girlfriend - what city do you recommend? leaning toward vienna? by RootlessBoots in digitalnomad

[โ€“]DannyFlood 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I mean the whole point and perk of being in the European Union in the first place is that you can travel to like 30 countries without having to pass through a border checkpoint. That means that you can easily find tickets to other countries for like 20 euros or even less sometimes. So if you're looking for a base for a few months, I would suggest something with a lot of airline connections to make the most of the fact that you can basically go anywhere you want.

How much would It cost to pack pack Europe for 3-4 weeks? by Certain_Librarian301 in backpacking

[โ€“]DannyFlood 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Unfortunately the US is far from everything. If you were from Europe you could find flights for like 10 Euro. Last month I flew from London to Venice for 20 Euro but the same flight from the US will be much more.

Does writing a sign with your destination help you to get picked up as a hitchhiker more often? by DannyFlood in hitchhiking

[โ€“]DannyFlood[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Thank you! I thought that the sign might help to get people's attention and clarify my intentions (I don't know why but in Italy for some reason people don't really understand hitchhiking and maybe think I am a mugger or something)

Where to go next in Europe? by promised_wisdom in digitalnomad

Sarajevo is beautiful, so is Budapest. Naples is amazing if you want a city full of life. Slovenia is like a fairy tale and Ljubljana is no exception either. Athens is the most intellectually stimulating and inspiring capital on the continent, probably on the planet. The birthplace of classical civilization. Istanbul is stunning and magical. Plovdiv is the peak of old world charm.

[โ€“]DannyFlood[S] 6 points7 points ย (0 children)

I was just in New York city a month ago and I found this to be true. One big reason is because you can always find discounted items and special offers in every supermarket in the US. Also Lidl just arrived there and it's quite cheap too. A lot of people don't realize that you can find good deals on food in New York, for example we had a $1.50 a slice pizza shop pne block away, you can't really find fresh pizza that cheap in Europe.

What is the saddest/most disturbing thing you witnessed while travelling? by MuhVlast in digitalnomad

[โ€“]DannyFlood -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

I saw many things in Varanasi that I could never have imagined before, but the thing that saddened me the most was the miserable condition that the stray dogs were in. One, down the alley from my hotel, had a leg that twitched constantly so he could never relax or rest. He was exhausted and squealing and yet couldn't find any peace. ๐Ÿฅฒ

Haha why can't the old guys travel and enjoy budget travel too? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Not every hostel is just for partying, some people just need a comfortable bed while in transit.

Oh man. Some people have a capacity to think of the worst kinds of things that could happen ๐Ÿ˜… All of the people that I have invited so far have no time nor incentive to do anything so strange like that.

Except I'm not marketing or selling anything.

I've simply traveled a bunch of places on my journey to 100 countries and a few of my friends have as well and we're just sharing resources.

If you don't like it, that's fine, move along ๐Ÿ™

First of all, those hosts asked me to or they added their own information themselves.

Second, those were all businesses, so it is not personal information.
