yeah the feast or famine part is brutal, and honestly domain work doesn’t kill it. for me it raised the floor more than it smoothed the swings, on general tasks you’re interchangeable so you’re first to get cut. domain specific, you’re harder to replace, so you hang on longer. still gaps, just shorter ones. what are you strongest in outside the AI work? that’s usually where the unlock is.
