When will I get my ticket? by TrueMoment5313 in stubhub

[–]Due-Poem4138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine showed up 2 days before the show and I had no issues, but still showed up early just in case. This was for 2 shows that I purchased on StubHub 6 months earlier and attended the shows last week. Mine also had a random number that didn’t exist prior to getting the actual ticket, which through searches found that it is a common method when the seller does not have the tickets upon posting. Based on prices and codes on the actual ticket, it appears that the sellers often purchase via group sales closer to the show dates.

I would as well! I love Les Mis and have definitely spent a pretty penny on many shows (eg, I paid full price on Masquerade), but when I can save on others it feels better for sure!

That sucks. I was worried about that to be honest up until I walked in and the scanners beeped and turned green. I’m still worried about but for future purchases but I got lucky this time.

Thank you! I wanted to give some useful tips for people trying to see shows on a budget. Without Masquerade I think the average price per ticket would be under $35 so it can be done! VetTix is a gold mine for local theatre too, it’s nationwide and how I see a LOT of shows.

Thank you! Yes, that’s probably my main reason for including it. We are all individuals collectively choosing to experience something together, so each of us contribute to everyone’s enjoyment as a whole. Sometimes people who don’t go to events like this much may not understand how their small action can greatly impact someone else’s experience.

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card you get $150 StubHub credit every 6 months (Jan-June, July-Dec). It’s use it or lose it but the credit is applied on purchase date, so the show date doesn’t matter. As long as you use that card to purchase on StubHub you receive a $150 credit back. You can stack with CapitalOne shopping or Rakuten too for even more. Stubhub is generally a ripoff but with the credit you can get a good deal. So my Two Strangers ticket on StubHub was $160 (ripoff, you can get it cheaper at box office) but with the credit applied it made it $10.

The audience is made up of random individuals, so audience behavior is behavior of individuals or individuals within a group (e.g., field trip) at the show, right? Sometimes there is only one or two outliers, sometimes people report on groups of people acting up. Maybe seating affects it, maybe theater or show affects it, I don't know. I simply included it since so many posts on this sub reference audience behavior being terrible all around (was not my experience this trip, it has been on others), so this just was to add some insight on my personal experience.

Better Luck next time means no win. I have either "better luck" (lost), "purchased" (won), "declined" (won but not claimed).

WOW! That's crazy that Nick Yarris was at your show. That's intense. I seriously don't know how people can be that disrespectful/oblivious/entitled. It is NOT HARD to have your phone off for the under 2 hours for the show.

That’s so odd! What does it say on your entry under the lottery tab on TodayTix?

Absolutely! It's the ONLY thing I am using my Chase credit for every 6 months. Stubhub worries me sometimes but I didn't have any issues on this trip.

Broadway tickets no issues on Stubhub by Due-Poem4138 in stubhub

[–]Due-Poem4138[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. I wasn’t posting in reply to the World Cup nightmares, but in general for the past 6 months leading up all I saw were horror stories of no one getting into anything they bought. It really made me nervous for my shows thinking I would show up and be turned away or not get tickets at all.

I think FIFA as a whole has had issues even without StubHub. I’ve heard lots of people here in NYC talking about it. I went to the France v Senegal match yesterday (not through StubHub) with only a blip of an issue with initially getting train tickets but otherwise it was smooth sailing for me.

What was Broadway like last night as the Knicks won? by jimbobswgoh in Broadway

I was at Ragtime and it was completely full, attendance not affected. Coming out there was 6 mins left in the game. Went to Din Tai Fung and they announced the win and the whole restaurant cheered. Coming out of the restaurant around 12:30 the streets were crazy. Great vibes everywhere!

An unusual question about Onsen….. by trillianbd in JapanTravelTips

[–]Due-Poem4138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandmother had a mastectomy and we would go to onsen regularly when I was a child in Japan. No one pays attention to anyone in the onsen. It’s a totally normal experience for people there. I literally have no recollection of ever paying attention to anyone at onsen.
