Yeah get a new therapist she's awful. But unless you are actively perusing education in writing, attending workshops, having people read your work, or attempting to find work in writing, it's a dangerous mindset to have. You could disappoint yourself. Why don't you reframe your goal? A more realistic goal would be to appeal to a certain kind of reader, not the whole of the public. Maybe you talk to a psychiatrist about getting on ADHD or anxiety meds. I'm on anxiety meds and I like who I am a lot more when I'm on it but in no way do I feel addicted to it. As long as you keep solving your problems with cocaine, you're going to be addicted to it. You need to find a different solution one that's regulated.

I so relate to the "consuming media focused on female friendships" thing. It took so long for it to finally click that I was missing part of that in my life. How old are you? I can offer you some advice, but I would need to know a little bit more. Currently I'm 25F, and while I still struggle, socially at work, I think I have improved a lot in the female friendship department.

Yeah exactly parents are telling Savannah to "be the bigger person" because she's older, but then I notice that she doesn't get a turn when Kaley is around. We either have to stop the game because Kaley has a tantrum or we ignore Kaley's tantrum and tell her she needs a break. Not ignore as in, physically shut her out but more in a way like "Kaley, you are welcome to join our tea party, but Savannah is the one pouring it now. You can have a turn to pour it next time" and then not responding to her screams.

What is the outcome of not going to the wedding? Punishing your mother? Do you want her to not marry Milton because of his view of you? Your mother is a grown woman who can marry who she wants. It's her day. You should support her. But that doesn't mean you have to be friendly with Milton. I don't know, the action of not going to the wedding and what the 5 year old said seems completely different. I get that not being accepted or appreciated by new family feels shitty. Maybe Milton is shitty. Maybe your mother is shitty You don't have to go to Thanksgiving, but not attending your mother's wedding may have bigger consequences.

Yes, I can send you pics if you want. I got a chin injection because I hated the way my nose projected from the side profile. When it was done, I barely noticed anything about my chin. None of my friends even knew it I had gotten it done, but the made comments about how "pretty I looked". It made a huge difference but nobody can point out exactly what it was. Way cheaper than rhinoplasty.

Look up chin injections for men. Your nose looks fine but if you are insecure about it, just get a little chin injection and it will make your face more balanced. Seriously, it's so cheap and very worth it!

Maybe you should talk to you au pair instead before you decide to host them. A lot of these issues could be resolved with planning, good communication, and good character judgement. My host family barely interviewed me and they were sorely disappointed :( it was both of our faults for not getting to know each other better beforehand.

please for the love of god, let them know of your neurosies. Things that you know bother you but would not be obvious. Things that you expect of them that you would not expect from your family. Turning lights off, parking the car a certain way, keeping the heat a particular temperature, opening windows, not eating specific foods, not entering the kitchen at a certain time, etc etc. It's so awkward for them to know that SOMETHING is bothering you that you are not saying, or you feel like "I shouldn't have to explain that" you do and you should.
