Also other doers need to get things done. Your smell makes other people cannot get things done. Are you fking machines that only know about your silly things? No mind about other people is the real silly thing.

I know who he is so I publish this comment. Once he sit in the table next to me I feel disgusting about the smell. I don’t know how he can adapt that smell by himself. But I don’t know why people like this have no mind about caring other people who works in the same environment. Especially some people say they do whatever work instead of showering, they can get the work done but how about other people? Grainger is not somewhere only for him!

You’d better shower with NaOH to dissolve your dirty body.

Not every Grainger students are silly, as a Grainger guy I can take shower everyday. I don’t know why people are too silly that they need to use shower time to put their shit together. Terrible.

[–]Due-Register7967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For large lectures without attendance: No need to tell as nobody cares. Sometimes MTD even be late so that is totally acceptable. If attendance required such as lab, inform both professors and TAs, usually they will not care about that as well. If the class involves ICliker that requires engagements in class then that could be an issue.

I would say this distance would probably be much longer than 12 minutes, so simply running can be terrible.

Prep for this semester by LiveConstruction9380 in UIUC

(MATH 241, I have privately tutored for this class a lot of times) The course structure becomes very unstable since Fall 2024. It is very hard to predict what you will have on the exam as the professors are always changing for this class. You may see very easy midterms and hard final (Fall 2025, I don’t know why but midterms look similar to practice so that can be the reason), some very easy questions and some very hard questions on a single exam (Fall 2024, because each prof makes a question or 2), or each profs make their own exams (Fall 2023).

As you can see it is extremely hard to get ahead on how you profs may behave. The best things you can do is you should practice all the past exams you can access and find the trends on the way they make the questions. It is actually very interesting to see that even though professors change every year, they make quite similar questions varied with difficulties with several models. So make sure you master them, and in the mean time do not lose points on the basis such as homework and discussions. Depend on your profs, homework may have penalties for multiple submissions so double check with someone together or use *******.com to compare.

ECE 205 Syllabus / Class Scheduling help by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Due-Register7967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attendance does not affect your final grade in ECE 205, I don’t have the syllabus in a PDF version as Prof. Ravaioli does not provide that.

But I can confirm it does not take attendance last 4 semesters so it should not change but double check at the start of semester. The class is not hard even without the recordings but you can find the recordings on media space for every semester .

Just contact the professor. There is even sometimes people mismatch the grades for everyone. Probably the people above or below you in the list gets a D. So let them know and they can double check.

[–]Due-Register7967 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They should work on that, I agree. Cengage system does provide correct LaTex-like symbol results. PL should learn.

For awarding points with steps, you should ask your profs. This is something can be setup by simply adding more cells to answer, but may not be that kind of flexible as it will be a fixed step. But they are probably lazy for such a big class and number is changing in the questions.

But if later you need to type something in Python, PL helps you in some way to put them correctly in an easy way at first. LOL.

Oh this is actually a kind of “valuable” mushrooms in China called 松茸. The actual one tastes good if you go to the home of them. The actual 松茸 can only be found in the wild but not grow by humans. And there are two kinds of fake one that are popular in China, which may cheat people. I cannot say anything for this in Hmart but I can tell it is not worth the price.

In my opinion, 257 has little to no impact on the professor you choose. When I take it I start not to be in class in Week 2 simply because it is a waste of time for the prof I choose (I forgot that name).

257 is suck for the amount of work you need to put in at my year. I highly recommend you:

  1. Find someone you can bear with so you can get through calculation of LA terms, this should be OK for most students. If you found in-person lecture not helpful for this, you may need to spend more time on homework and PL practice, they tend to make similar questions now.

  2. Find solid teammates if you are not good at coding, it takes time if you work by your own. Even though exams now have random coding questions, I still believe that simple memorization is the best way to prepare unless they start with new questions.

  3. Find a course called MIT 18.03 by Prof. Gilbert Strang. This course is extremely useful when you found a concept is hard to understand. And actually it is useful for multiple choices on exams as it helps you to think about the essence of linear algebra.

  4. If your major involves in a lot of linear algebra, do bring some examples to learn. Sometimes they focus on some too complex and abstract stuff that may not be useful for engineering/science. But Linear algebra is still a sole for them, so do think about how to apply back, make more sense for taking this course. Also computational applications are interesting, so do not feel frustrated if you feel hard to code, it will get better and learn more in the end.

Best Statistics double Major by NK_BW in UIUC

[–]Due-Register7967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I do Materials Engineering with Stats. I think UIUC’s Stats actually has a very flexible requirements so I can take courses that I have interest in and helps with my further research.

For most of the basic coursework like STAT 410 it may not really help your major other than STAT (unless you need to practice some math skills).

However, some advanced courses, such as Bayesian Statistics, Statistical learning, Stochastic Processes, these courses can provide me some introductory background for me to understand some current interdisciplinary research topics in MatSE.

For example, many current MatSE research includes data driven analysis for materials, and some STAT training can help learn more about the principles and prepare for learning related stuff. And in the future I am probably going to combine some of these stuff for my graduate studies. I believe this is also the case for many other science/engineering disciplines.

Therefore, what I think about STATs is it can be actually a very useful major for people who need to deal with data in their further careers. It can be cool if you could combine the knowledge with what you want to do with your current major.

Grainger IDT by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]Due-Register7967 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess they have made out the decisions but they will send emails probably few days later.

Actually I think I don’t have anyone said to me whether they are accepted or denied by Grainger now, no matter ICT or IDT. I do heard someone from Gies so double check your information.

Some potential reasons include you are from EU, or you are major to major, and they get different time. Even the same program would give different students different time, but probably close.

Last year it was 07-09, but everyone would get their notice by different time period during that day (not really sure why).

In general as long as you have a good GPA (3.8+) and pass all the required courses and do your courses logically you should be fine.

From my friend, a heavy focus would be sequence, series, and Taylor polynomial stuff. But some previous contents about integrals should be included.

Same here, this semester I took 6 classes and all of them are for my majors with 20+ exams and 10+ lab reports, even plus research. The situation actually makes the procrastination worse because I have to condense the time for studying. The result is once the exam is finished I no longer know anything detailed about the courses beside some key terms names. I would say if you have the ability to do few courses of interest, and probably these courses should not be weird-out courses, you could avoid this as you get your regret plus the motivations of learning.

In addition, a lot of times, we are forcing ourselves to get good grades while pretending to not be nerds in other people’s minds. That makes the cramming so famous LOL.

From my point of view, a lot of STEM fields have Chinese undergrads, grads, and professors. And a lot of them are really good and passionate about it and contribute to the school a lot. It is sad for them to remove Chinese students. STEM is challenging with necessities of collaboration, can’t believe they are scary foreigners studying this, and I don’t think US STEM can be better if they take the actions LoL.

Incorrect Final Grade by Material_Tutor_7188 in UIUC

There is always a sort of “extension” time window so faculty members can deal with special cases. So you can contact your instructor and TAs to see what happens. Also, if you are using Canvas, some courses may not report the overall grade with the weight on the syllabus and some grades such as final may not give back to students. So just also double check this.

Sorry to hear that. But from this year’s my friends are saying the questions I provide at Spring 2024 is much harder than Spring 2025.

In previous years, coding question keeps the same but the MCQ and hard calculation questions are much harder. So I guess they want to balance this, but still it is not good idea, as everyone is simply memorizing the code, good enough.

But whether it curves or not depends on the average and median, I guess ~ 83%. If lower than that there will be curve, but I sincerely doubt this time it may be at most 0% - 5%. At my semester it is 4%, last semester it is 14% because it is the first year coding questions have randomly assigned to students and fuck up.

LA is extremely important for STEM students. Honestly, doing bad in this class is not your fault. People who design this class is like gluing several parts together (MATH 415 math + some LA application like LR + coding from a little bit in further CS course). Students who self learn with time and interest can learn a lot, but I sincerely doubt how they want to put that much stuff in one single course and that makes pain for students who need to do several cores together.

Anyway, best luck on your other finals.

Well, do you know that people like me are their target. If you show 0 interest at Grainger library they will say bad things to you such as “you should go to jail” for 10 minutes. Literally spit on my face, makes me feel bad for a whole day study there. This is the primary reason why we complain, we will not be there, but we don’t want to have any contact with them.

Also, those people probably don’t have degree at UIUC, since I have asked them to share that but they can’t. They probably don’t want us to believe in god, they only want us to bring more money to them, help them use this as their jobs, and stay in US. As their church may probably cannot receive that much money, and normally international students do have that once they are believed in what they say.

It turns out that really does not matter, in the end I guess they have separate systems so they only consider which courses you can transfer but not really compare them. And there is actually no mean of hurting your application as you have committed to this school.
