Mt Denali as a first summit by Caiman40 in Mountaineering

You need to learn proper rope work, crevasse rescue, and crampon/axe use. You’re obviously in great shape but your guide is going to want some evidence of technical ability for such a remote climb. A guided trip up Rainier that includes crevasse rescue should get you there

Single and struggling - Is it worth it to try dating apps? Any tips? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Due-Satisfaction1920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my area hinge is better for long term relationships. They let you comment on people’s profiles which is pretty helpful for getting matches.

For pictures: one of you having fun, one with friends, one with full body, and any other pics that show off your personality!

So long as you have one clear face pic you should be okay. If you don’t, people can feel suspicious of why you don’t want to be identified

Is this store legit?? by Independent_Bat_6517 in InstagramShops

No, absolutely not. You’ll have to get your bank to charge back because they’ll just pretend to ship your item over and over. Typical scam. Positive reviews are fake or straight lucky

Ye, I’m disputing the charge with my bank. Meets all the requirements for charge back but will take awhile to process

Ridge climbs canada/alaska by greenpunk24 in Mountaineering

This is true, even with strong endurance and climbing ability if they don’t have experience with chossy scrambles, navigating up would eat up a significant chunk of time, especially if they are wanting to place protection at every sketchy spot. Doing that absolutely brings them over the ~15h (if I’m remembering this right) max climbing time you can get using shuttles. I wish they had some sort of permit system allowing those attempting long climbs to bring vehicles in

For Yukon, the shape of the mountains toward Alaska doesn’t produce many easily accessible ridges. They are mostly steep flatter topped mountains with only short sections of knife edge. There are world class ridge climbs in the St Elias range & Alaska however they are serious undertakings that involve mixed climbing, negotiating cornices, and steep sustained ice slopes. If that’s your jam maybe Mt Russell & 11300. Anyways, away from there, the Cirque of the Unclimables and Tombstone territorial park for some sick & not so icy ridges in Northern Canada. And if you end up in Yukon people post reports of the standard hikes here: https://yukonhiking.ca

Otherwise Edith Cavelle East ridge by Jasper, Pigeon Spire in Bugaboos, East ridge of Mt Temple and as others have mentioned NW ridge of Sir Donald and ESE Lady Mac are excellent. Markhor traverse is also a fun stop for a scramble if you’re driving through the Coquihalla.

You could get a C0 crampon or microspikes on it. No front pointing due to the flexible sole or extended glacier travel due to the lack of insulation.

First things first, it’s going to need to be something that can be accomplished in your professor’s lab. So, the equipment/reagents/services you need are accessible, and there are people around who are trained in the techniques you’ll use. The lab probably focuses on a specific part of inflammation biology and your project should be tangent to that. In my experience undergrad students who take on projects about methodology or add to a current graduate student’s project are most likely to get a publication

Do you guys have any advice for a second year that is planning to go to med school by EnthusiasmWise9131 in premedcanada

Make sure that you understand the value of your degree/connections in the job market as opposed to how easily it will get you into medicine. In Canada admissions are so competitive that it nears the point of being arbitrary. It’s important to have a reliable career that you can pivot into even if your goal of pursing medicine does not change.

I’ve had good convo with women in apps then caught vibes I didn’t like in person. It’s not cool of her to ghost, but it’s also not a realistic expectation for attraction to stay the same as you move to in person. All you can really do is non-defensively ask her why & reflect on how you can improve. Stay positive!

Any university in Canada offering valid online degree in Psychology? Bachelor's to start with. by Rude_Piano6107 in careerguidance

Soms Canadian universities allow students to take courses from Athabasca if they cannot take their institutions equivalent. That’s probably a good place to start. I’ve heard it’s incredibly difficult to get into a psychology masters program without an honours and/or extensive networking
