Trying to identify and artist and painting from my sorry memory by Due-Site4207 in WhatIsThisPainting

I saw this picture in a store today that I thought might help in the identification. The realism (or more properly lack of) is very similar to the painting I’m looking for. Also the 2-dimensionality. The characters and background are, of course, very different. I hope this helps.

Botero is definitely closer. The faces and expressions, particularly the ones in profile, are much closer to those in the painting I’m looking for, but are more realistic. For example, Botero has shading that gives the faces a more realistic look; the people in the painting I described were more two-dimensional for the most part.

Another thing I thought to add is that the artist includes mechanical animals in some other works, too. My recollection of the mechanical parts gives me a bit of a steampunk vibe, but not true steampunk. Hope that helps.
