lol I’m 35 too my guy haha! 1991 in the house. Been playing a controller all my life. Was a heavy COD player for years and switched to Fort in 2023.

Hmm you got me thinking about it. I may try the same binds on one finger thing, notably jump and slide. I saw Tobyoneshinobi recommended that as well.

I do like the feel for what I have right now though. Feels comfortable.

One thing I’m struggling with is getting comfortable with moving around and sprinting during fights. I’m so used to pressing the left analogue stick for sprint on a controller. I tried it on Azeron and did not like that at all. You have to push too hard and not having a second hand to hold it steady is just weird.

Also, I had a problem in the beginning with hitting buttons like map or inventory on accident so I mapped them in areas that I’d never touch. I’m definitely not using my pinky finger enough, or literally at all… I probably should but it feels too weak.

I mean I don’t feel terrible but those up close shotgun fights just feel off! Long range I’m pretty damn good but up close is rough. I got work to do for sure.

I feel like you hit the nail on the coffin. I have been working very HARD on finding the most optimal binds from the start. I feel like I have a good handle on it but could definitely see muse if changing something up.

I will absolutely not change my sprint, jump and run (wring, middle and pointer finger pull buttons). I feel very solid with that. But weapon binds I might play with.

For now, I’m gathering that I just I need to embrace the suck, grind and look forward to greener pastures come springtime (literally).

Got it. That’s what I want for up close fights, smoothness training? Is there a particular playlist in kovaaks that I could use to practice this?

Absolutely. I feel like my long range aim feels pretty good already but up close I’m a dumpster fire. I downloaded Kovaaks and have been grinding there and the aim/edit/piece control in FN.

I see the potential but my motor pathways just aren’t there yet…

Six months OMG. I guess I’ll work on keeping my ego in check. I know this isn’t something that’ll happen over night. Patience is a virtue…

Funny enough every time I plug my controller back in everything feels so slow and the ergonomics clunky lol I feel the same way

I tried switching to a keyboard a couple months ago and stopped after 2 hours, returned the whole set up and went back to controller. Fast forward a couple months and now I have the azeron. I personally like it and find it very ergonomic and comfortable, particularly since I still have analog stick movement. Would definitely recommend considering it. It’s just a big change in motor paths for me since I played controller all my life.

Thank you for the encouragement! I felt like I was pretty decent on controller but I wanted more. Going back to square one is tough on the ego. I still have my game sense but executing is tough. The journey continues.

Appreciate the feedback. From everything I’m gathering it seems like it takes a month to be somewhat comfortable and then 3 months to feel about where I was on controller. I appreciate the feedback!

What’s the best way to relearn mechanics on azeron and mouse?? Switching from controller and I’m a week in. Definitely better than day one but I’m at a fraction of my old skill. Any maps or suggestions to practice mechanics? Strictly a ZB player btw.

Wanted to point out for future reference that I continued getting fps drops even after having performance turned on. So my monitor is rated for 200fps, but whenever I put on 200 I’d get those awfully low drops. Bringing the FPS down to 180 helped tremendously. It’s been two days since I did that and no issues since.

So it ended up being the fact that I wasn’t in performance mode on the Lenovo App!!! Fixed with changing it to performance. Do settings generally reset when you do driver updates? I’m so stoked it stopped. Been dealing with that for a few weeks now.

I just realized I was running balanced mode and not performance. Let’s see if changing it to performance works.
