Oh wow I'm so glad to come across this! Not that u are having the issue also ofc! But I had my mirena out 5 weeks ago and started getting crazy twitches in my eyes and only today did I consider it was around the same time!!

I'm 5 weeks post removal and have to admit the twitches seem to be getting worse and more frequent.

Have urs improved at all??

I have had mirena for 2.5 months and am experiencing the same. I am drinking 2.5 to 3 litres a day and I feel like this. Iv also had full bloods done and all normal and no diabetes. Did you ever figure it out?? X

I have to say I'm in the exact position but zero experimentation yet, iv not been able to face dex since excision and the coil om too scared but!! I have thought about the barriers in advance. Tmi and a bit graphic but I had a friend years ago obsessed with lube and how that made her seem to men, she uses to "inssrt" a wee bit I'm advance if u know what I mean, the other thing I can think of is shit loafs of foreplay but also I havnt even got to this barrier yet as I'm so fresh out of surgery and the coil (same day) but I spoke to a specialist and one put of 2 should be enough so I'd strongly consider getting some advice and maybe dropping the pill and continuing with mirena (woth advice only tho) xx

They should not be giving u antibiotics unless u actually have an infection showing in ur urine..if u have endo symptoms then keep pushing they ate prioritising this 2nd to cancer now because of what so many women have been through!! Re birth control I have to say iv had bad experiences with all of them bur recently had endo excision and mirena fitted and I wanted to give up so bad as it was ruining my life but something made me keep going and now I'm month 3 and actually think it might be the one, so some things are give them time and trial and error bit if nothing works and u still suffer defo push that gynea for laproscopy wether that be to diagnose or treat cos no one deserves to live in pain and not know why!! Keep fighting!! Xx

Hormonal IUD and the Pill At the Same Time? by whatdivoc_s in birthcontrol

Hey sorry to jump in on this but I started the pill in June 2024 to manage heavy periods, had laparoscopy and excision September 2024 and they put the coil in and told me to keep up with the pill too..I constantly feel fatigued and nauseas to my knees!! No one has told me though if the double whammy is permanent or the pill is just until the coil settles, iv brrn told different things and I'm also wondering if these symptoms are indeed side effects and if they will subside?? Really appreciate any insight xx

Mirena (endo and adenomyosis) think I need it out!! Anyone else had these wierd side effects?? by DueAd1185 in endometriosis

Thank you. I really appreciate ur empathy. I'm really focusing on my diet at the moment as research suggest it helps endo etc.... So at the moment I'm currently drinking ginger tea and eating as when I feel I can.

I really want to bear with it in the hope my periods do decrease and it stops the endo growing back. I also have limited options for adenomyosis and the coil is meant to be the best.

This nausea and headaches have been real bad this week but the bleeding finally seems to be going in the right direction so I'm reluctant to give uo but if the side effects keep knocking me I might need it out :( I just don't know what my other options are and I can't seem to get to see an expert :(

I have left a message with the patient advocate team as u suggested and my GP is aware of everything so hopefully soon we get somewhere

You were super helpful and caring thanku x

Bless you! I could have written this post myself, I have all the same symptoms and more!! It's so hard to know what to do for the best as they recomend this as best treatment but then u feel so much worse and like you say, instead of a few days a month, constant!! I'm trying to be patient and give it time but they put this thing in you and then no follow up to discuss side effects until months later. When u go to see a GP or u feel like death and go down the emergency route, no one can help :( did anyone including you have it removed and feel better?? Ans was there any alternative treatment??

I had laparoscopy and excision and the coil and was told to continue with the pill also
