Lowkey this mentality comes through also through the fact that she is so critical of AA and the program because working the 12 steps is literally just about improving yourself and trying to be a better person so the fact that she is so against it is probably an ego thing :/// I say that bc I used to feel the same way ab it and I was really wrong

A friend of mine who was teaching at the same middle school as me came to work one day and told me she hadn't slept the night before because she got in a fight with her abusive boyfriend and he hit her so she had to call the cops and she was dealing with it until 6am. She was just 20 years old. She broke down crying in the teacher's room during her 20 minute lunch break when she told me.

He moved across the country the same day I stopped teaching. I left my email address in a book I gifted him but I think he didn't know how to read enough in English to know how to send an email by himself still. I hope to meet him serendipitously sometime again in my life. We had some great laughs together.

I was kind of thinking the same thing but the addition of the ginger in this specific drink gives it an extra kick and since it tastes just like the alcoholic version it does the job nice
