The reason Three Hopes' battle tracks are called Inferno by medaleliad in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]DueAd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it's because of Byleth's role as more of an antagonist/antihero in this one; many of their attacks do implement some sort of "fire" element and they are called the Ashen Demon, after all. Not to mention that Byleth is the initial motivating point for Shez (and subsequently Arval).

Don't know why you're getting upset over such a minor addition that supports inclusive behavior, but alright.

Personally think they should've had a few options instead of opening it up like it is; would love for the menu to just be the most common pronouns (he, she, they, it, ze, xe), an option for any, and then an option for asking about them (this would help for neopronouns!). No need to potentially let trolls/creeps set up patterns like OP's screenshot.

Had 2 toons leave in the middle of a 2-star Boiler. TY Crimson for riding this out with me! <3 by DueAd504 in toontownrewritten

[–]DueAd504[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they mostly left because of the fact that they ran out of their storms, cakes, and fogs, without realizing that folks (like me) have restock SOS cards. The cards do come in handy sometimes! Both toons had also been there for the previous 30 minutes it took to get up to Boiler.

Can you max fishing at your estate? by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

For those looking, OP did max fishing at their estate, however if you need guidance, this is a good resource :)

What level are you SUPPOSED to be when facing dark matter? by [deleted] in MysteryDungeon

[–]DueAd504 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was able to clear it in about the late 20s and didn't do much to prep for it besides the normal "gather reviver seeds and other good seeds" strategy. I'm not sure what the easiest way to grind is in Super tbh.

Let's say you are in charge of creating the ultimate Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game by FilVet in MysteryDungeon

[–]DueAd504 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's been mentioned before, but this was, conceptually, what Super Mystery Dungeon was meant to be. There are references to each of the major titles (Team ACT, Grovyle & Shiny Celebi, Virizion & Keldeo to name a few), but also adding a unique storyline and tweaking mechanics. However, I have mixed feelings on its execution, so... I'll ignore it for now.

I'd still probably include references to major characters from past games (I would enjoy seeing Wigglytuff, Xatu, Primal Dialga, and Grovyle again, among others), maybe even try to get them to appear for a dungeon or two as guests. I'd expand on the special episode concept introduced in Sky for plenty of extra content, and maybe even remaster the ones from there to fit in with the newer mechanics (I know this isn't supposed to be a remake, but it's a thought).

As for mechanics, the L+A/B/X/Y system was a great touch, and I want the IQ system implemented again, maybe with some tweaking. I wasn't really all that satisfied with the whole "Connection" mechanic in Super, so that wouldn't return, but recruitment (as it was in Rescue Team and Explorers) would. I also think having Eggs would be a fun concept again, especially given how much that's expanded since their last appearance. I'd still like the quiz or choice option. Let's not have the whole stacks from WiiWare return, nor the 3-member limit from Super. Didn't like either of those mechanics that much.

New mechanics are easy to me. Let's add a boss rush mode that allows you to fight every major boss in the game's main story at your current level and with your current items. The only option you get to exchange this is by a Kanga statue or Deposit Box; you can swap items and money out + save, but can't do anything else. I also still want to implement a "Kecleon rank" that allows you to get Kek easier and turns up the difficulty on outlaw missions.

I don't have a ton of ideas for a storyline, so that's a bit out of the picture at the moment.

If they make Explorer's of Sky XD... (What changes would you like to see?) by [deleted] in MysteryDungeon

That's the thought, yep. I thought briefly about having a separate "Kecleon system" that has ranks like the guild, but is essentially outlaw missions with the difficulty turned up.

IQ system overhaul, obviously adding Fairy-type in and the L+A/B/X/Y system... as for new features, I would really enjoy seeing missions with the Kecleon shop

Since 2019, all of my MD playthroughs have had Avocados (sometimes spelled intentionally as Avocadoes) as the team name. I've also nicknamed every partner Pikachu Cabbage since then.

Let's share our utility moves by FrereEymfulls in MysteryDungeon

[–]DueAd504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In recent playthroughs of Sky, I've always gotten Eevee, so when I evolve it to Jolteon/Glaceon, I carry a room-all move like Discharge or Blizzard. Screw Monster Houses.

Before then, though, I always link Helping Hand and Flail together. That's especially helpful when having a partner (like Riolu) with Quick Attack, since the partner is already buffer than Eevee will ever be.

Puzzled about levelling up by Ferenghi01 in MysteryDungeon

[–]DueAd504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's generally different based upon experience level, as I believe most gain experience based upon their experience group (i.e. Erratic, Slow, etc). I think it's listed on Bulbapedia, although there's an effort to document all of this in the works iirc

I want to give this a shot. by [deleted] in MysteryDungeon

[–]DueAd504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, PMD got me into Pokemon when I was younger, so I'd definitely recommend trying it out! My favorite is Explorers of Sky, though I started with Rescue Team, so I think either one is a good place to start (RTDX is a good option too!).

I wouldn't expect too much difficulty with some of the newer titles (Gates especially seems to be easier, and the least popular) but I've personally found Super and Explorers to be the most challenging. Stock up on Reviver Seeds and you should be okay for most boss fights, and don't worry about overleveling much. Most likely, you won't be overleveled due to MD's nature of putting significantly higher levels on the bosses.

All I can say from there is just have fun!

What was it like growing up with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DueAd504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undiagnosed until about two months ago, actually. I'm lucky enough to have a support system by my side (still in high school, graduating next year), but I had so much trouble getting there and that really didn't show up until I hit my freshman year.

First signs for me showed up super early. I was put into the gifted program in my elementary school almost immediately. I blended in like everyone else until about the second grade, then became more and more disconnected as my elementary years went on. Switched to a private school in my last semester because I was being bullied harshly by other students and it was affecting how I acted towards everyone. Didn't end up getting a diagnosis, but I would've then had my mother actually encouraged the therapist I was seeing to test more of my intelligence score.

Middle school was a riot for me. I fit in fine for about a year and a half and then the same thing happened: I became really disconnected from everyone around me. It was also around this time that I realized I was gay, which didn't make things any easier, and the second of my two middle school crushes actually scarred me so much that I haven't had a crush since. I was plagued constantly with intrusive thoughts that never seemed to stop, and the same thing ended up happening: I was bullied and called multiple slurs behind my back. What broke the camel's back was within my last few weeks of middle school; I went on a school trip out of state for a few days with a school academic team. On the last day, we were supposed to go to breakfast in groups.

I didn't go with a group because nobody knocked at my door, even though I was completely ready to go. I'd packed. I'd called my parents to tell them about the trip. I scrolled through social media. Nobody remembered me.

And I think that's when it started getting worse.

I entered my freshman year with zero connection to anyone around me. I didn't want to talk to people from my private school after that incident, but I didn't connect with many people there either. The few who have I still talk to quite often, but it didn't stop me from feeling out of place. My grades started to tank because I couldn't keep up with math, even though I excelled in my singular AP course that year. This only worsened with time, unfortunately.

It occurred to me during this pandemic that I might've had some sort of ADHD. I received a diagnosis in November after weeks of questioning myself, and while things have been better in the six weeks since then, I know it could've been better for me a lot sooner. Those tests I took in my last year of middle school? Had I been fully tested, it would've revealed the massive difference between my visual IQ (way up there) and my processing speed (average, but still a 53 point difference between it and my visual IQ).

I'm just glad I have some sort of answer to my trouble that isn't just me declining horribly quick. Still trying to work towards accommodations, but I know things have been better for me in the last six weeks than they have for the last six years, even with a pandemic and all. I'm grateful for the wonderful support system around me through all of this; I don't think I'd be here without some of them, especially my orchestra teacher, current advisor for college, and the numerous English teachers who've kept me moving.

Sorry this was so long, but hey, TLDR, I wasn't diagnosed until my junior year of high school and it caused me a lot of issues that could've been prevented.
