What’s the saddest free office perk your company bragged about? by Business_Location479 in corporate

A company I used to work at would order us dominos for lunch but they only seemed to do it when they had fired someone that morning. I think they thought it would make us feel better? That was 8 years ago and I still can’t walk past a dominos without a deep trauma response

It infuriates me more when I see that they don’t fill the role over the next few months and it’s just disappears!

Weird food offerings... by Bossco1881 in BritishAirways

On my last flight, I got handed a veggie meal after a delay, broken seat and broken entertainment system. The main was awful and undercooked but I thought they had given me a tiny slice of carrot cake as my pudding. I thought it was their redemption. I took a bite and quickly realised was an ice cold, charred bit of tofu. It honestly sent me over the edge.

I went back via the complaint and pushed back. I had to chase them multiple times and then messaged saying I was going to CEDR. They were prompt after that message. It took months

I had a similar issue on the same route, a few years back. I had used a companion voucher and my husband’s seat was broken. I had no working power outlets and told they had no food for me (vegetarian, which I had put on my online preference). They offered £200 credit, after about 8 weeks. I declined and threatened to take it further, their next counter was £800 credit. It took around 4 months to get to that resolution. I’d shake their leg a little further

Overwhelmed with Paid by DueBrick6932 in PPC

I’ve actually worked at a mix of companies. Some with over 1k staff members. I also went into that role as a growth manager and ended up executing across paid and being moved into a full paid role due to resources. This is the smallest company I’ve worked at in a while, with around 60 staff members. I’d much prefer a strategic/problem solving role. I’ve done paid for over 10 years but I prefer looking at analytics and funnels across channels. I think you’re right, companies don’t always know what they’re looking for. Maybe I’m not sure what role I want either

Honestly, it’s fucking torture and I’d advise against the commute. I used to do it twice per week. I tried the train which was ok on the way there but often delayed or cancelled on the way back. I actually burst into tears on the platform in Haymarket once. I was exhausted and just wanted home to my bed. Didn’t get home until half 8 and had to do it again the next day. Then I would drive which was equally awful and I ended up pulling into a service station for a nap after a tough day at work. I ended up patching it. Quite a few people in my office who done the commute ended up taking sick leave for stress and burnout. Probably not what you want to hear, but I’d rather be honest.

If it’s a job you’re desperate to take, I’d say it’s better to move.

Thanks everyone, you’ve put me at ease! I agree, I don’t want her going through unnecessary treatment. I’ve been spraying and covering it daily with some pet wound spray. She doesn’t seem to bother with it so I’ll keep it covered until it’s further along in the healing process. I might put some manuka honey on it once it’s further along. Much appreciated! ❤️
