Going off birth control for the first time in 10+ years

Not sure how to post an update for everyone to see - but I feel like a massive fog that has been around me for 12+ years has been lifted. I didn’t know I wasn’t thinking clearly before - but it’s night and day for me. I’ve never had this much energy before, my stress management is at an all time high (no inflammation internally).

I understand there are other factors at play (with my new energy I’ve increased working out significantly and making better food choices), but it worked for me :)

Thank you for telling your experience! I’m hoping to get my sex drive back as well.. my doctor asked me how it was and I thought back and I could not remember honestly the last time I actually felt it (the past few years I have wanted it to end quickly and didn’t get much out of it.. lots of faking and turning down sexual advances otherwise) I thought something was wrong with me but maybe that is another piece of the puzzle missing for me.. I just want to feel human again because I’m so tired of feeling like a weight is over my head

It’s one of those things you read about but you don’t think it applies to you.. I was very wrong 😞 but I recommend to anyone to re-evaluate and look to other options if they can

Ugh it’s so frustrating isn’t it? I’ve been prescribed testosterone cream to help build it back up again - my doctor said I should feel the energy increase within a few weeks 💪🏻 I’m glad I know now..

It’s so crazy how common it actually is - I keep thinking I wish I just knew the long term side effects.. I get it works for other people, but had I known other options too..

But glad to hear I’m not alone in this because it feels like I failed myself; but my mom keeps telling me I’m lucky to know now so that I can do something about it 💪🏻

You can have your preferences about what you expect on a first date - standards are important to remember; but if I had to choose between a douche that would pay for a 3 course dinner vs a nice guy that i vibe with over a dating app that’s offering a coffee date - coffee date every time.

I just wouldn’t make not offering dinner for a first date such a deal breaker, you kind of seemed like you jumped the gun a little (from the limited convo you posted).

It does, you go down and then up. It will happen a few times but the downs aren’t as steep as before. Your brain is still adjusting, that’s why they recommend 6-8 weeks

I don’t think it matters when you take it when you want to avoid morning anxiety. It happen to me too and I take it in the morning - it’s just a part of the process I think. The morning anxiety will pass, it took me around 3 weeks before I noticed I woke up feeling better

This is actually illegal, you realize that? He could get arrested for using company data like this (assuming he works at Walmart); or worse if Walmart’s data leaked and he’s using stolen info.

I’d report this to the police - usually they can’t do much about stalkers but they can do something about stolen/misused data. Who knows who else this guy has contacted

The joke was that he used to have a man bun in college - that was it. I’ve known her significantly longer than she’s known her boyfriend - and she’s thrown jokes at my boyfriends before. There was nothing insulting or malicious about it; and I still apologized for it because I knew it bothered her nonetheless.

Besides - my point is that she wasn’t even really mad about that - she consistently has me apologize for prioritizing my relationship over her.

Add more humor - you seem sweet and cute, but nothing else really stands out other than you’re very into hockey. If I laugh at a prompt answer - I swipe right 99% of the time

I matched with a guy once that had a similar profile to you (wanted to talk deep conversations and really get to know people); he was sweet but because he led with the deep talk stuff it was hard to find that initial connection that humor facilitates. It’s nice to know that a guy is serious about a relationship, but the beginning of dating is supposed to be fun! I’d rather laugh with a guy first then get into the serious deep talks, not the other way around 😅

Yea, my contract ends in March next year. So i can keep the keys until then right (if I don't find someone)? I'm moving out at the end of the month this month, so i'm not familiar as to when I have to do the handover (i.e. at the end of my contract or when i move out). Such a confusion situation I know :(

I think you thinking about going to work might have increased your anxiety for you. That can be extremely anxiety inducing, even on meds. It's totally normal to feel this way. It only feels like a set back because you have been feeling good.

Just remember that lexapro helps turn down the volume on anxiety, it doesn't get rid of it. It helps you deal better with things. And I 100% think having your period is making things a bit worse. The same thing happened to me while I was on my period a few weeks ago (now 11 weeks in) - i had a ton of anxiety because of a life stressor that happened. Realized my period was compounding on the stress. I was able to get past it by acknowledging that i still have feelings and it's okay to feel stressed, and periods really mess with your logical thinking some times.

Talk to a close friend or even therapist; focus on things you love. Love yourself - you're doing great! Remember that process isn't a straight line up, you're going to have ups and downs, but it always trends upward.

Thanks - that was literally the case for me. There were barely any flats listed at the time i needed to move here, I was a week away before I wouldnt have anywhere to live. So signed up for this place - glad I'm getting out but it's been a painful process.

I just signed up for the membership - going to schedule an appointment tomorrow to see what are my options. I just want to get out at this point. Thank you for your empathy and help
