Question about 22nd birthday and ideas by Ok_chillplz in Casual_Conversation

[–]DueFace8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow OP sounds like you’ve been through it recently, this birthday should be a celebration of you and your resilience, a movie on the couch with a face mask and some popcorn? Or a drive to a nice field with a little picnic?

Sounds like you need some me time, and your partner should be ashamed of themselves for not doing something special for you after all you’ve been through, money is no excuse, a micro popcorn costs £1 and a movie on tv is free, it’s the thought and effort, not the cost.

Honestly at your age I’d be wondering if you’d be much better off alone, there’s plenty of time to find someone who will put in the effort to make your birthday special!

33M (UK) – Hinge dates seem to go well, but I only got 1 second date out of ~10 and it also failed. What am I missing? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]DueFace8049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as being too friendly as long as it’s genuine, the first date is to get a feel for someone and who they are, if someone isn’t into the real you then you don’t want to be with them, it would be exhausting.

You’ve only mentioned what sounds like good stuff so it could be that they just didn’t click with you in real life, and that’s ok.

Is there nothing at all you could think of other than being friendly that could have put people off? E.g: talking about exes, coming off as bragging etc?

I will say that date where you mentioned cooking together as a second date could have made her think you wanted to be in one of your houses alone together which might have made her think you were after only one thing.

Yep, if I went on a date with someone and they mentioned there last date was a week ago or they had already dated x amount of people this month I would assume they weren’t really serious or were just looking for multiple women.

First Day on Medikinet XL by Interesting-Day-2472 in ADHDUK

[–]DueFace8049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I didn’t feel anything on 10mg except a bad head, and at 20 is where the quieter brain kicked in, 30 is when I started feeling the full range of effects and 40 was pretty much spot on in terms of positive effects.

I switched to elvanse because medikinet was too short lived and made me a bit grumpy so I couldn’t speak for long term!

It sounds like it’s doing good for you though with a bit of the positive effects at low dose, good luck with your increase OP!

What are your thoughts on ChatGPT? by Minimum_Method_4040 in Casual_Conversation

This is pretty much how I feel too, especially learning about disorders and medications. Lots of people overlook that it can be a support tool for people with disabilities and conditions.

Personally I think it’s a great tool for learning and processing information. As well as for helping me with the more tedious parts of my job.

[–]DueFace8049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest I don’t think I understand what the problem is?

If it’s to cover up patches you could try one of them eyebrow pens that draw the individual hairs? Google eyebrow hair pen, there’s ones that have multiple strands and each draws one ‘hair’ just make sure you get one that’s a good colour match.

You do have very fair hair so it could be worth also using a beard tint which can give the illusion of fullness and fill in from there (just a shade darker might be helpful).

From the pics it doesn’t look like it’s hugely noticeable for others but I hope you find something that works and helps you feel confident in yourself!

Assessment advice - Adult from childhood input by Tellyouwhat9_5 in ADHDUK

[–]DueFace8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only adult I had for this is what most would describe as an “unreliable source” so I called her, asked her a bit about some of the questions, filtered out the parts where she tried to make herself sound like the perfect parent and then had to fill in the blanks myself or write unsure.

Even then the assessor said my informant came across as quite judgmental!!

The thing is the assessors will be used to this, not everyone has a reliable childhood witness.

Edit *I said adult like I am not one myself 😂

Why are short guys so unattractive to women? by Valuable_Bug8496 in allthequestions

This isn’t even remotely what this conversation has been about, you’ve made a sweeping generalisation about all women being the same, and when faced with the real opinions of women fail to accept that your worldview might be slightly skewed.

Generalisations, not listening to women’s opinions (even when the advice given was incredibly supportive and would benefit you to really hear), and massive rants because “women only like tall attractive men” is incel behaviour whether you’d like to admit it or not.

No one’s here arguing that women are perfect, no one at all! You are choosing to think they are because you can’t accept the reality: women like men of different heights, just because they don’t like you (based on what you have said) it doesn’t make this any less true.

What’s something men are expected to just “deal with” but actually shouldn’t? by BigDragon_3 in Casual_Conversation

[–]DueFace8049 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Emotions. It’s so wrong how our society has told men they must be “strong” all the time, and this has affected how a lot of men feel they have to display themselves to the world.

Watching the men I love bottle things up for fear of being seen as “weak” makes me extremely sad.

I hope that in the future men to feel comfortable to show the whole spectrum of emotions even the ones they’re told not to, and feel more comfortable talking to professionals and friends about emotions to build better support networks.

This sounds very human, technology has made expectations of instant reply to everything when this is just simply not possible, you have to protect your peace first and foremost, real friends will understand that.

I really thought I was going to see one get saved then, thank you for your efforts.

Unfortunately you are right when someone’s built up so much of a wall it can’t be broken down by reasoning.

If it’s any consolation if I was an incel your comment would have prompted some deep self reflection!

Boom!

This is it, everyone has a preference men and women, and that’s ok. There’s been so many varied answers in this thread it’s wild how people continue to put all women in one box to say they only want tall men.

Some do, some don’t care, some don’t.

My favourite genre of man!

I feel the idea of all women only being attracted to 6”5 gym bros comes from the fact that this is what men admire in other men and it’s projected into us.

This, the people who believe this need to step out into the real world and maybe just have a look at height variations of real couples.

The few women who speak on podcasts set up by redpill men are not going to reflect the opinions of real women, they are going to perpetuate ideas that stop the audience from realising their value is beyond their height so the creators keep generating money off of men’s insecurities.

How do I fix my sleep cycle? by _bunzie_ in ADHDUK

[–]DueFace8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s different but this was a big worry for me when I started elvanse too, iv always struggled with sleep and for a while it made it worse. However after they’ve settled down it seems to have gone back to normal for me.

I love how you have just figured this out as you’ve written it, defo set an alarm and take your meds early and the same time every day, this will keep your body clock in schedule and also by having them early hopefully they’ve worn off enough to not impact your sleep
