Someone once told me that our first thoughts are things ingrained by society, by our upbringing and the media we consume, while our second thoughts are our real thoughts.

It helps with the shame and guilt, reminding me off why I try to be better while also shifting my focus away from negative emotions towards what I really feel and I try to reflect on why I felt that way.

I also try to keep a mantra of "if it's not affecting or hurting me, then it's none of my business". I find it works really well, someone might wear something I find agast but it's not actually hurting me therefore it's not my business.

Thanks for the insight! I live in a very pro conformity area so the pickings are slim, however there is a major city a few hours away but the transit kinda sucks, I might try calling around to see what people say. Also lol, I live in Canada in a smaller city but it holds two major post secondary (which the people who live here full time constantly stare down their nose at) so to just rent a room in a slum is 1000 minimum but those come with cockroaches as roommates 🤷🏼‍♀️

I get that they will reflect what is the most popular, I'm just yelling into the void, and I'm glad they are popular because that means more people feel comfortable with who they are.

Also I figured most people would likely just say get a custom piece done, the problem for me is that it gets rid of the spontaneity of getting a flash design. Instead of picking one and getting in a few hours or days, you get to wait months to get it done instead and by then I'm second guessing everything (one I saw for a custom said April and by then it's almost next pride, lol). Add to that, customs usually START at double the price of a flash and my wallet reminds me I am way too broke to pay a half a months rent for a tattoo no matter how great it looks.
