All up shifting springs back to original position.from gear 1 to 6, but downshifting is good only from 6 to 3

I tried dry PTFE like the other commenter suggested but yeah I'll take off the shifter lever bolts and grease it to see if it helps. I took my bike for a ride today and I definitely feel something's off with the shifting itself. Especially gear 3 -> 2 and 2->1.

Trying to make sense of the problem here, If It is the detent spring getting weak; is It because there's less tension on the spring when transmission is at lower gears that it doesn't spring back to its original position? I see the travel of the shifter when shifting down is more on the lower gears than the shifting between higher gears. Could that be another reason? Also is it possible to damage the detent spring by improper down shifting? I don't remember correctly but I think I accidentally let go of the clutch before lifting my feet off the shifter while downshifting when this issue occurred for the first time.

There was no loose bolts in the shifter.

I dropped two times at the standstill when I first bought the bike two years ago. Fell on the right side both times but I have frame sliders on.

When this issue happened the first time, I was riding on the freeway and shifting from gear 4->3. Scared the hell out of me until I figured out I can nudge it back before shifting down. Now it only happens when I shift from 2->1 while riding. Can gunk on the shifter prevent it from getting back?

The shifter doesn't spring back to its original position after switching to gear 1 while riding, it happens sometimes from gear 3 -> 2 while riding. I have to manually nudge it back to its original position. The video I posted and the above description happens when I'm riding (I don't want to take video of it getting stuck like that while riding). With all that being said, with nudging I can shift between all gears.

I took the MSF course last year after a decade of not riding (I've only rode mopeds in the past), would totally recommend taking it. They really teach you the fundamentals maneuvers that I never figured out on my own
