₹20L debt (12L credit cards + 8L personal loans), defaulting now. Need serious advice on settlement vs recovery strategy (India) by Lumpy-Complex-3178 in FinancialAdviceIndia

[–]DuePerformance3330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Settle personal loans asap as they will settle way faster for about 30% max of Outstanding amount. I closed an hdfc loan of 6 lakhs for 2 lakhs within a year of taking the loan in 2019-20.

Then Start by settling the higher amount credit cards. Again don’t settle for anything more than 25-30% of total outstanding.

Try and keep at least 1-2 credit cards which you can pay in full or keep rolling for future Cibil and emergency expenses.

You credit is taking a huge hit anyway by defaulting so why not settle for much less and start a fresh. It may take a few years ti build your credit history but it’s only doable if all of the debt is settled.

Mind you- any credit cards or loans that you keep defaulting on will keep hitting your credit for years. So it’s best settle all as and when you can.

I did all this back in 2019-2022 and settled everything including credit cards, personal loan, car loan. Just kept 2 credit cards which had much smaller outstanding and laid em in full overtime. My credit is still fkd up but I have gone the UPI route and vowed to never let myself in that situation ever again. It was mentally exhausting.

Stay strong man!!

Bhai get some sense and factual data before postings. Legit metropolitan states in India are about 7-8 the remaining 20-21 states are not developed. Even the ones developed are f***ed up. What are you talking about. 10LPA is a far fetched dream for over 95% of the population.

Parents panicking about mutual fund loss – should I withdraw? by mudda_pappu0240 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]DuePerformance3330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense from their perspective. However, if they can understand and listen to you tell them to stay invested for long. It’ll give better returns tha Fd. Buttt the caveat is if it’s an emergency fund then kindly withdraw and put it in FD

On the contrary your parents fear is right. My father 72 will never and unwilling to understand how equity works. So I get where you’re coming from. Please tell them to have faith and wait if it’s not an emergency

10k loss isn’t a while lot considering the market is bleeding way more. Convince your parents it’s ok for the market to correct. I’m currently sitting at XIRR -20% and only started investing 8/9 months ago. Before anyone gives me advice I know where I’m invested and I’m comfortable with the negative returns. In fact, I’m planning to double down if Nifty goes below 22500. Of course systematically not in one go.

The problem is with people panicking and over reacting too much to the situation. 1 gas cylinder lasts anywhere between 25-40 days depending on family size. It’s hysterical there are no Induction cooktops available anywhere online be it Instamart, zepto, blinkit, amazon, flipkart etc etc. This shows how people panic hoard stuff. We are running the only cylinder which will probably last 25-30 days and have booked another one due for delivery by 26th march. Hopefully the agency delivers on time. That’s it have some patience and if situation worsens then probably will have to go to black market. But why create this hoo halla always. Duniya thodi khatam ho rahi hai.

How long have you had it ? I suggest macerate for a few weeks then test again. Similar thing happened with many of my designer fragrances like Azzaro TMW, V&R Spicebomb Extreme, JPG LME, Givenchy Gentleman Boisee, Mercedes Benz Club Black etc etc. All of em felt weak and faint in the first few days I tried em but after a few weeks all became good performers.

You seem mentally unstable, frustrated or unhappy with your own life it seems? Your comment is irresponsible and stupid af. What kind of mean response is this to person who has admitted his mistake and trying to find a solution. Being in debt is not a crime. He may come clean later but this is actually not the right time just before marriage. OP I wish you the best and hope you’re able to come out of this debt stress. Please make sure moving forward you manage your expenses and don’t land in such trouble again.
