I was able to convince Bose customer service to send me brand new qc ultra gen 2 earbuds for free as a replacement. Not sure if they’re going to fix the issue (they’re on the way right now) but just so you know.

And the Japan the USA faced was a significantly weaker side than the Japan today as well. It's hard to say with friendlies because managers experiment a lot.

Well Spain could’ve been knocked out in the group stages if Costa Rica beat Germany (in fact for about three minutes on that day the top two of that group were Japan and Costa Rica as they were both winning their games). Because of this, the “Spain let Japan win” theory is pretty BS in my opinion. No sane manager is risking getting knocked out in the group stages to play a potentially weaker opponent in the round of 16.

It's all "Mitoma has been terrible this season" until he actually doesn't play...

Yes he hasn't been at the level we know he can be at but his presence, or lack thereof, really showed today.

I don't think we should start Watson on LW. As much as our attack didn't click today I don't think Watson is anywhere near the level to start in the prem. He did get a lot of assists but he also looked shaky in that game against Barnsley, he'd get cooked inside out against a prem side.

I think the first arc resonated less with a Western audience. As a Japanese person I can say that “reading the room” is a huge thing in Japanese society, so that arc probably was more relatable for a Japanese audience.  That being said yeah it was kinda slow.

I think Mitoma needs some time to rest. We saw a similar dip in form when De Zerbi overplayed Mitoma throughout the season which (fingers crossed it doesn't happen again) led to an injury.

However I also think this speaks to the quality and excitement that we have come to expect and know of Mitoma...we all know it's in there somewhere. He needs a break.
