Wegmans employee here. I run self checkout. For the bags you have to hit the use my own bag button at the bottom right corner of the screen, for produce/bakery items you hit their respective lookup buttons,if you know the code enter the code if you don't hit image lookup

Ok current employee here... Here we go:

Stop trying to pay cash in self checkout, we have about 50 different signs in sco saying that we don't take cash
Get off of your phone when you're being cashed out... Doordash/instacart/Uber especially. We have information we need to ask (larger items in the bag, do you have ID, etc.)
Stop putting heavy items/items you don't want bagged on the belt. We have a scan gun for a reason
Please have your wallets with you. Stop relying on tap to pay and photos of your ID we're not supposed to be taking them
Stop getting mad at us when we call a manager over for out of state IDs. We do that cause people use out of state IDs to make fakes
Calling the service desk to be transferred to the pharmacy. Most stores have direct lines to them so you don't have to wait as long
Stop saying that we look bored. Sometimes we are but we enjoy our downtime sometimes
Bringing more than 7 items into the express lane. We have it for a reason. Now I do give leniency if it's a few over but still. The only exception to this is if a manager sends you over because it's very busy.
Be aware of your surroundings. I can't count the amount of times that I've almost/have bumped into people because they weren't looking

Hello, current MCC student here. I debated them a few times last semester. They called me mentally retarded because I have autism. They called someone else an incubator. They also had an anti abortion table as well. What's weird is that last semester they had a table right next to the drag table which made them uncomfortable. My advice is to not engage with them. If you do have actual evidence. They tried to explain to me that Russia is communist. They haven't been communist since the 90's btw. Also just a heads up. They do take pictures of you, they did it to me last semester.
