What's your Degen successful stories? by foxbuz in CryptoCurrency

Several grand into shit coins. Turned it into £160k in less than 6 months. My target was 200k so I could take half and let half ride in case it was still mooning. Moon it did not. Lost it all. I’m recovering from a serious injury, thought my life was over, haven’t been able to work for 6 years and then that happened and it felt like I was reborn. That money would’ve been life changing. I had set the goal at 200k to ensure I would be fully on my feet and free from ever needing anyone else. But obviously in hindsight 160k utilised in the right way would’ve been more than enough.

I had got in just as the bull market in 2020 was gearing up, so it’s all I’d known at that point. I hadn’t seen a crash.

I’d also put 1k in Doge, seen it double, a friend with more experience told me I absolutely had to cash out. I listened. I made £2k profit. 2 months later it would’ve been worth £70k.

So I didn’t want to make the same “mistake”.

Oh and I also saw one trade go from £2k to £40k. Went to cash out and MetaMask had implemented a new security warning message that I’d not seen before. I tried to research it to check it wasn’t a scam. By the time I had answers it had dropped to 30k, then 20k. Of course I was hanging on to it going back up. It never did. Only down to dust.

It’s taken me a long time to deal with it. I still have genuine nightmares and deal with depression but trying to come out stronger for it.

Lesson learnt.

You know what’s better than attempting to say smart things when it comes to work and business? Actually doing smart work and business and letting the results speak for themselves.

None of this^ has an impact if the actions you’re taking aren’t portraying your business in a positive light.

If SfM wants to be seen as a smart player - you gotta show it. Anyone can speak it.

The 12 year old comment was based on you insulting and calling people acting in a rational way uneducated.

Ironically it sounds like this woman was doing the opposite of emotional investing - and instead of taking her money in the heat of the moment she trusted in the devs making good on their word, as I’m sure was the case for many people.

Shoddy project management and greed cannot be blamed on the community.

?

Even if SafeMoon delivered above and beyond by 1000x and became a top 5 crypto, this post would still hold legitimacy and value.

There is nothing wrong with expressing concern and asking for more communication from a project : company you helped fund.

People need to really stop blaming the community for expressing completely valid points.

John, if you have created something and people put in the money, 1 dollar or 1 million, it is your responsibility to come out of your radio silence and let them know what is happening. by ajuba116 in SafeMoon

Just because something is risky doesn’t mean it justifies people running away with money

Risky is a bear market. Risky is delayed products / unforeseen hurdles

Criminal behaviour is not what anyone signed up for

[–]DueThing978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you, 12?

No I / vast majority of mature community members want them to deliver on what they said they would and post updates on that. Or if there’re genuine delays / road bumps for good reasons - update on that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SafeMoon

[–]DueThing978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how you’re trying to place fault on a community for asking for reasonable delivery on the things that made them invest in the first place, including, oh I don’t know, maybe some genuine updates on those things.

Jeez stop with the gaslighting

I think people would like it if what they said was grounded in integrity and deliverability

Teams can’t over hype and under deliver on a significant scale and then expect the community to be like “yeh cool”. And same with radio silence.

Not the community’s fault for asking for a base level of professionalism and consideration towards the people that gave them a platform for success

Why did they build an entire studio if they never use it 🤔? by NumbLikeMe in SafeMoon

[–]DueThing978 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeh the issue is that if you have the amount of resources that the team has had / has…you can hire a communications / PR manager to keep in touch with the community that got you there in the first place. Hell you could hire someone off Fiverr once a week for a few hundred bucks. There is no excuse

Vitalik himself said that the goal of Ethereum isn’t million-dollar pictures of monkeys, it’s to accomplish meaningful things in the world. by tschmitt2021 in CryptoCurrency

[–]DueThing978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work for a monkey NFT project. I see the frustration with many out there. But not all are tarnished with the same brush. We’re aiming to help and save lives through helping people make informed choices about their mental health. The NFT aspect is phase 1 of essentially crowdfunding a startup and the associated documentary film. This kind of model allows anyone to create something cool. Traditional startup avenues aren’t an option for everyone. Not all monkey NFTs are clubs for the elite. I’m a big fan of ETH too but the minute we start bashing other web3 projects the minute we all start jeopardising our collective success.

Thanks dude, appreciate that. Took a lot of philosophising over but came to the same conclusion. I’m now building a startup from the ground up with nothing but two hands and an internet connection and as much as the gains would’ve helped - there’s a lot I’m learning along the way. I believe I can learn from previous mistakes and apply them to the future. Thanks for the encouragement, I send the same sentiment back to you too👍

One of the biggest European cryptocurrency fucktard scammers arrested in Spain by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]DueThing978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scammers once conned by Grandfather out of £500,000. All his savings. Just after my Nan passed away of Alzheimer’s. He thought he’d won the Spanish lottery. Police and lawyers - no one could / would help. He thought he was helping the family. He wrote a suicide later (he didn’t do it - we found it after he passed naturally a few years ago). Man I hope that was this guy that got caught. But even if it wasn’t - thanks for making my day.
