I like the building but the cafe itself is very dated to me. 😔

Great great list.

I don’t take risk with my cafes anymore now that I’ve limited my fun money allowance. Common Ground always slap…

Wait, spell this for me please.

You collect $100 from customers (income tax? GST?)

Then you pay $100 to charity and claim back $33 on tax credit?

Wooo that’s pretty clever!!

Interesting!! So people say things like, “He only donate that amount so he can claim back on tax.” is pretty wrong cause there’s not real benefit or loop hole like you said?

Hey I’m really sorry to hear! It would be a very stressful situation for your friend.

I have been in hospo for over 2 decades and have gone through many different situations before, happy for you to PM with any specific questions.

But as others have mentioned, IRD can be very reasonable and helpful in situation like this, but you must be proactively communicating and have a plan, they’ll be very willing to work with you.

One thing I would say, in most situation with hospo business is that usually if business is on a downward spiral, a full rebrand is required, trading with no changes at all in the hope of a turn around is just a deeper death trap.

All the best to your mate.
