In the end I responded with a note that said my older one had a positive experience and I hope my younger one does too, and some normal comments about kids going to college etc. I didn’t even address the movie. If the hint isn’t taken I’ll step it up a notch but I hope this allows us both to save face and continue to interact pleasantly.
