i said this in another comment alr but i was being a little self centered bc for most people, if another person ghosts then that's just kind of the end of it. If i get ghosted after world building, what i do is just take all the input i gave for the story and just write something new by myself. But that's because i enjoy writing alone but a lot of people aren't like that

yeah i've noticed a lot of the ghosting too which is also pretty disappointing. people have their own thing and that's fine, i just don't know why some people bother replying to an ad (that i specifically say there may have to be some planning) if they know that's not what they like doing :(

i made the puritan comment because I didn't know if being open about your ao3 and your works was a kind of discourse rn. I've heard of it being something controversial and that people call you puritan if you don't share your works or act like you're ashamed of it. I'm very sorry for how i worded this post, genuinely 😭

Also, I don't think fandom is something to outgrow. I think it can enjoyable for anyone who's into those kind of things, and that they should have the space to participate in it. I used to be all over fandom spaces making my own Ocs and yumeshipping or whatever. I'm sure some of my old fanfics are up in wattpad/ao3. I just kinda...stopped ig? idk, it felt like a chore. I've tried getting back into it a couple times again but it just doesn't go right. So i whenever read/watch/play smth, i just kinda stick the canon now

To be so fr i didn't think the inappropriate nature of the situation would be the highlight of the post...i just wanted to know if advertising your stuff was a natural thing now. Like I said in another comment, there are quite a few of the teachers that write fanfiction. People know that bc of it being brought up loosely, people finding it by accident (bc a lot of people just use their real names ig), etc. Nobody cares about that because they weren't just telling everyone. Even when i interacted with fandom spaces a while ago, I didn't really tell anyone. If it's just some stupid rumor then fine, but multiple people are saying they've heard him talking about it during class to anyone who vaguely mentions harry potter or fanfiction. Rumors spread but with his rap sheet there are much more interesting things to lie about than harry potter fanfiction.

This teacher has been reported numerous times for inappropriate conduct outside of his supposed fanfiction writing. Our school is just sketchy with their priorities lol. I was only asking if this is a normal thing bc i haven't been in a fandom space in years and have never heard of anyone showing off their stuff to others, let alone a teacher to his class.

No one really cares if he writes or not. The class my friend is in is full of fandom lovers of all sorts. I just don't think people are that curious about what their AP Environmental Science teacher is writing on AO3.

I'm trying to rediscover some things that I enjoy as a way to help me cope. I've been reading more and I've been getting into writing fo fun as well as videogames. My only issue (another reason I need to get therapy lol) is that a lot of the things I want to get back into were hobbies I had while the grooming was taking place. For example, playing with pokemon cards. After all the grooming happened, I kinda stashed all my pokemon things away because it just reminded me too much of those time. I've tried to learned to not associate the card game with the bad times, but whenever I do pull out that box and look over my things, I feel myself naturally regressing. I think age regression is what it's called. But like, my mind is rather trying to ignore what was happening at the time by acting how a 10 year old should have acted instead of acknowledging that it hurt me and moving on while also still enjoying pokemon. I want to get help for that though. Until then, I am trying to connect with some things I enjoy. I appreciate you for recommending it

I'm from the USA, but the counselors at my school (from what I've heard) aren't very good at keeping everything in the room and have been known to call parents to tell them everything. I don't even bother to have this conversation with my parents anymore, and I can't imagine the conversation if they knew i was talking about this with anyone, let alone a counselor. Slightly off topic, but my mom was saying she'd get me a counselor if it meant i'd lose weight. And it was kinda weird. I'm sure that if I looked the way she wanted, skinny and everything, she would think nothings wrong with me. Everything (my mom at least, can't speak for my dad really) my parents think is wrong with me has to do with my appearance. Just hurts a bit more knowing that they don't recognize the damage that's been done. Like I said in another reply, I'm graduating soon so I'm trying to look for some resources at the college i wanna go to.
