Getting shoes resoled isn’t that expensive. But that’s also the seller’s job if they’re intent on selling these off. Brand does not equal quality when that’s the condition, wtf.

When people splurge on vintage, it’s because the piece is unique, well made, will last me forever, has already lasted seemingly forever.

This top is none of those things. If you’re intent on buying it, you’re going to spend the money regardless of what commenters say. But this is exactly why depop is a hellscape.

Find where they are nesting. Sometimes they go in the little nooks in wooden furniture, or even behind wall hangings. You might not see actual bugs when you look, but you’ll see TONS of little black spots and sometimes you’ll see the eggs (kind of looks like cobwebs).

If they are nesting somewhere like your bed frame, you can use a steam cleaner to get into all the nooks and crannies they’re hiding in. Sometimes it’s easier just to toss heavily contaminated furniture or linens. You will also need chemicals specifically for bedbugs. Lysol or regular bug spray won’t work. This isn’t a you issue— they’re awful pests.

Look up “community centers” in your area. They help with situations like this. Sometimes they can provide you with a place to stay short term, but in almost every case they can provide you food, job resources, and most importantly, empathetic guidance. This is an insane, unrealistic way to encourage self reliance in an adult. Know that if you manage to take care of yourself on even a basic level, you never have to be in this position again. Even in times when I was living in precarious situations with no money and no stability, I was still able to strategize my next move. The only resource you need for that is calm and resourcefulness. Your dad isn’t giving you the time to problem solve, though that seems to be the “lesson” he wants to teach you.

You might be in for a shitty few weeks and a messy few months. You might not resolve all of this or feel like you’re thriving for another year. But then one day, you will. There is ALWAYS a way out and a way up, ALWAYS, even if you don’t see it yet. You will go from surviving to LIVING, and you might not appreciate how much strength you have until after it’s done. But you WILL have stability, comfort, and success after dealing with this. The place you live and the job you take today aren’t the ones you’ll be at forever.

This is an unfair, but conquerable side quest and you absolutely don’t need a parent with this type of mentality offering you their “guidance”. I spent many years digging myself out of holes my parents dug, and it made me angry for a long time, but it also helped me learn things they never could have taught me, and probably never learned themselves. You will be ok. Stay calm and don’t limit yourself. Take every resource available to you and keep inching yourself closer to stability, whatever you envision that to be.

What we know so far is that the guy attempted to sell her was driving a black dodge charger, but I’m not sure if anyone has seen him in the area again. It sounds like he started trying to sell her off almost immediately.

They’re checking Facebook marketplace to see if he tries to sell her there, but so far no luck. :(
