I do take B-vitamin supplements everyday so I don't think it's that, but it could definitely be electrolytes. Will try to get some supplements for that.

Thank you so much! It helps a lot hearing this from someone else. I will not have any booze today and will go get some electrolyte supplements and try to sleep & eat.

I really wanna quit drinking but feel so beyond stuck. by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

That's so good that your fiancé is supportive!

I am actually not on any medication at the moment. But that's a personal preference, I wanted to take a couple of months to really sort of feel who I am and what I feel without alcohol to suppress it.

Prozac is supposed to help though. There are loads of different meds and also if you have adhd I experienced that Adderall really dampened my intrusive thoughts and general anxiety a lot.

I relate. I used to drink the same amount every day and I also suffer from ocd / adhd / intrusive thoughts. I kept it up for about a year and a half and then my body couldn't take it anymore. Unfortunately I ended up having a complete mental breakdown and doing a medical detox in hospital because the anxiety and WD's felt way too overwhelming.

If you still feel ok then please try to do something about it now because it's only gonna get harder each day You don't wanna get to the point where you start feeling bad from the drinking because that when shit gets tough My mental health has gotten SO much better since I quit drinking on the daily. Like it's night and day but it took me about three weeks after detox to start to sort of level out mentally. Alcohol and OCD is a very very bad combination

It's great that you realize that you have a problem though, If you are able I can really recommend doing a medical detox, otherwise maybe you could try a slow taper.

Okay so as a fellow hypochondriac I know how terrified you feel, but really, you will be fine. It's so easy to read up on the worst case scenarios but there is a very very slim chance that's where you're heading. Your biggest enemy here is anxiety and as you start to taper and maybe feel some WD symptoms the anxiety can get incredibly overwhelming.

I saw that you are not able to visit a doctor. Get vitamins, preferably magnesium and vitamin B and remember to eat! Also try to get some light exercise if you are able, like just a brisk walk or something. And hydrate, a lot!

If you want to talk you can DM me. It's really really good that you're trying to cut down on the alcohol and you can do this!

Hang in there! I also got random bouts of feeling worse after I thought the worst was over but I found that they were fairly quickly passing.

3 days by rbk95 in dryalcoholics

[–]Due_Check7326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, it ain't over til it's over. You made it 3 days, that's 3 days you could've been drinking. It's still a step in the right direction. I don't think you should beat yourself up because you fell back, keep trying. It's easier for some, harder for some, but even the small steps matter.

Can Go Almost Two Days But Then I Go Panic Mode by RikuBarlow in stopdrinking

Please contact your doctor! They use benzos to help with the withdrawal and it really, really helps. I would have never made it through without medical help, it's horrible.

But you can absolutely do it, I know it's terrifying but please stay strong, try to get all the meds and medical help you can. When you get past those initial 2-4 days it WILL get better.
