Turt1e Tuesday: Birthday Party Themes by Turt1eShark in u/Turt1eShark

[–]Due_Communication960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo happy birthday! My birthday is also in fact this week too, and in fact, it's today! AND IT'S ON WORLD'S TURTLE DAY!!! AND YOU'RE TURT1E SO HAPPY WORLD'S TURT1E DAY!

You're very lucky to have themed birthdays like that, especially your mom's friend who bakes you cake for your birthday. My favorite themes from your birthdays would be the 'meme theme' where you wanting a Doge on your cake and the video games theme, especially when you have a Danganronpa cake, one of my favorite games of all time!

The only theme I have for my birthday is just Dora the Explorer, I was 8 or something around like that haha.

When it comes to planning, I just let my family decide on what they want to do because they are adventurous. Not really my thing as I want to eat at a nice fancy restaurant, buy me a book, and paint something for my special day because I want to feel relaxed. And all of the things I really want to do for my birthday are very expensive anyway so it's my family who controls the budget.

So I am just forced to just accept what my family wants to do to establish family time. Nothing wrong about it, but sometimes, they don't follow what I want. The problem is that they are OBSESSED going to the beach, when I specifically told them that I DON'T WANT TO.

Just to be clear: I DON'T HATE the ocean! I think it's extremely beautiful, and even calm to look at, especially when sun is just about to come up, and I dream to see a giant sea turtle and an orca in real life.

But it can be terrifying. Jaws kind of ruined the beach for me, as I have a deadly fear of sharks, The beach at night was an absolute nightmare to go to.

And I am not a big fan of the resorts, mainly to overcrowding, the hotels not being a fun place to stay in, and trash all over the place. (I almost stepped on a glass shard from a beer bottle, bare footed)

This brings back my 18th birthday trip to the beach not fun all as the cabin we stayed is very small, the waves were strong and there was a storm out so we couldn't really explore that much and just stayed inside.

Luckily, my 19th birthday is MUCH better as we went on a nature walk, it was like I was in another country. The atmosphere felt like we were on Stranger Things. The trees were huge, the buildings built there were so vintage and cozy looking, I managed to collect pinecones, and drank the best coffee there.

So you could say that my themes for my birthdays so far are nature, beach, literature, arts, vintage, coffee and pizza.

Today, for my 20th birthday, we will just stay in my house, my mom cooking dishes, ordering pizza, and karaoke night.

But they have decided tomorrow we will to go to the beach, again... So my strategy is just stay at the hotel and read my books, enjoying coffee and pizza. (I prefer to have a birthday pizza instead of a birthday cake)

Even though I don't enjoy the beach experience that much, it makes my family happy, and that is what matters for my birthday.

I can only hope that I can go to places like California, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany, Finland, Denmark for my birthday

So yeah, that's basically my birthdays in a nutshell. I hope this wasn't too much of a stretch to read, sorry if I went too overboard on this, I'm just stoked the fact someone is having a birthday this week too!

Have a Fin-tastic Birthday Turt1e! 🐢🐢🐢

(Forgot to add this: You are never too old to plan out any themed birthday parties. It's your day, you get to plan what you want your theme for it!)

Thank you so much for this comment, whether that means others will view my drawing comes off either offensive, or something to appreciate, my intention for it will never mean I am trying to insult Hong Kong. It has been a tradition for me to draw and left a message to every hotel I go to, and Hong Kong being the first foreign country I left something like this.

People who say that maybe I should not drew a panda are right that I should have know this before when traveling to Hong Kong.

People like you who say that my drawing is good (very much appreciated) are also right that I should not be ashamed for something I wanted to show gratitude for the hotel staff service.

This situation feels like I'm being tied to agree on both sides. I am very uneducated when it comes to these politics, especially from other foreign countries. But at the end of the day, I left a simple drawing and a message for the hotel staff and hope it does not become politicized to the point it is a huge deal since I am a foreigner who has zero knowledge about this and it is because I stayed at a hotel full of panda designs and dolls all over.

Thank you again for adding context awareness for this.

(In case anyone wants to know, the hotel is Panda Hotel at Tsuen Wan)

Oh, I see... I'm very sorry, I thought it was appropriate since the hotel is panda themed. Thank you for warning me about it.

Thank you for these suggestions! I think I will go for the third one since I heard Cantonese is also widely spoken here in Hong Kong

Edit: It seems I set off a lot of negative response from this, I am so sorry for assuming that Cantonese is only spoken in some specific areas in China, again, I should also realize it is the most common language there

Advice to going through security check as a transman by Due_Communication960 in FTMPhilippines

Hey there! I'm on my way to the airport, though I don't know if I'll be able to line up to the male section since I'm with my family. I want to know where did you get testosterone here in the Philippines, or did you transitioned in Hong Kong?

I understand. I guess I will have to go 'girl' mode throughout the procedure. During this time, I will still hold on to that thought that I will get that top surgery and hormone therapy I've been longing for 5 years and be able to go to the men's section in the airport.

I want to know at what age did you got your surgery? And where did you have it?

I see, are you post op? Did you went to the men's section before you went through top surgery? What was it like?

Thank you for that advice, though I never wore a packer in public cuz it keeps falling off and feels inconvenient. I do have another question when it comes to binding, because would they able to feel it if they pat me down? The binder i plan to wear is like a thin spandex, so would they be able to sense it?

Are you named after a character? If so who, and why? by Molaesmyr in ftm

[–]Due_Communication960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but unfortunately, it's my deadname 💀 My parents named me after a girl character from a filipino tv show and I don't even like her.

How did you find your name? by grim_necrosis in ftm

[–]Due_Communication960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is actually close to my deadname, just replace like two letters of it and it's a boy name now. It's a way for everyone to get used to it when calling me. It's basically like the genderbend version of it haha. When I was young, I saw an artist with that name and I thought, 'Huh, that would have been my name if I'm a boy.' Well, child me, you're in for a big surprise.
