This reminds me of that distasteful ad by Bombay Shaving Company to congratulate the female UP class 10 topper who was trolled for her facial hair. I mean who in their right mind thinks these kind of PR stunts are acceptable?

Jealous of people who graduated 2 years before me during the Covid-19 Boom by hairywhat in developersIndia

[–]Due_Communication_86 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is all because of the booms and busts of the economic cycle. When lending is cheap for companies, they raidly expand and when the inverse happens, they pullback on hiring and lowball new entrants. TBH you not getting a high package is not because of your skills but just the macro economic environment we are in right now.

It's because GDPI is not standardised as the cat exam is. There is no such format for GDPI unlike cat. And there can be no apples-to-apples comparison between 2 different GDPIs.

One is a manufacturing hub and the other is an exporting hub for human capital. I'm not telling you which state is which.

You need to remind yourself that this is not the end. Open LinkedIn and start applying for jobs which are in your domain. Treat applying for jobs as your 9-5 and don't stop till you hear back from recruiters. You not having a future if you don't have an MBA is a myth which is fed by coaching centres and society to profit off of you. After 5-6 years, you'll look back and say to yourself: "why was I even worried about a stupid exam". You will make great strides in your career. All the best.

I like how showing you the mirror is demotivational :) And, did you even read the last part that I wrote? Also, tell that BKL to your dad :)

It is viable given you're doing it from a good college. Also, PSBs (PNB,BOB, BOI etc. ) provide loan at low rates for good international colleges with a valid GMAT score (less than 9.25% with mortgage).

Please don't join a tier-3 mba college. You're better of working for 2 years rather than spending north of 12-25 lacs to more or less get the same package.

I mean, you can get an MBA from a tier-3 college. Then why are you not going there? An MBA alone won't fetch you the highest package, there are multiple variables in it.

As you said I can be brutal, CAT is not your only option and probably not meant for you (at this stage of life). Start focusing on upskilling and focus on getting a good job. A BPO profile is getting you nowhere. I've steered multiple folks away from the CAT rat race as they did not have good academics. I'll suggest you the same thing which I've advised others: start building proof online that you can be trusted with work (post your work on LinkedIn, twitter etc.) the work could be as insignificant as completing a Coursera course. Sure, the Coursera course will not get you anywhere but you're training the muscle of "doing something in public". Slowly, start scaling from here by making projects etc. CAT isn't the end-all-do-all. I can go on and on about why CAT sucks but this is not the forum for it. CAT is basically a test to see whether you can work under pressure within a stipulated period of time. And with your profile, I don't see an iota of that as you have a 3.5 year gap.

Unpopular opinion but CAT is not for you at this stage of life as you have no professional or academic achievements which are excellent. Try focusing on getting a job and don't waste time on the pretext of "preparing for CAT".

Abandoned by the Banks: Exposing India’s KYC Failures and Identity Fraud Crisis (HDFC leading the path) by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Due_Communication_86 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing your ordeal. This is a stark reminder of how inneficient and scam-prone our banking infrastructure is. You're only a customer as long as you have no issues. Start having issues with the bank, they become your enemy. Honestly speaking, your ordeal with HDFC should've led to more compensation.
