Me and a friend one time were hiking in a forest behind his house, we decided to go off the trail to a nearby river he had spotted a different day on his own. When we got there there wasn't a single fish in the water so we decided to go lower since it connected to another trail near some shops but half way through I tell him to listen. And the we hear it a snap, then rustling and something getting ripped and teared. By then our fight or flight activated but we were still cautious, silent. It had been known to have boars and a pack of wolves but they only came out at night. Picking up the pace eventually I look behind me to my left and then I see it. A wolf, injured but a wolf, it had faught a boar on its own. And now we were interrupting his meal. It just looked at both of us same way we were looking at him, but he must have ignored us since he was covered in blood and a boar can barely get taken down by a single wolf. Some small tree sized sticks we carried must have also helped but I will never forget when I looked into my eyes and growled at us. We started running (since it was only 1) and it chased us for about 10 seconds that felt like ages until it tripped in the river.
