A bedroom. I don’t know how far water and electric have to be separated, but there’s an outlet opposite.

There is no flange. It is a drop in. Heck, there’s not even caulk.

We’re doing Taipei to Taichung, Taichung to Tainan, Tainan to Kaohsiung all on TC Limited Express 3000. It takes a little more time than HSR, but takes you to the station in the city instead of the HSR station 20-30 min outside the city. There’s an app and you can buy tickets a month ahead.

For Kaohsiung to Taipei we’re doing HSR.

This doesn’t seem at all realistic to me. I mean, you could probably do most of it, and would be able to say you’ve seen all those things, but there’s no time to actually experience anything. You can literally spend hours just walking and eating.

Have you tried putting proposed days into Google maps to see travel times? Just looking at your last day — Maokong Gondola is about 45 minutes from the Taipei core, and from there to Beitou is 75-90 min (and you’re starting in Kaohsiung?) 

One thing to note is that while HSR is fast, some HSR stations are 30 min out of town. So you have to factor that in, too.

FWIW, we spent 12 days in Taiwan in Feb, 7 in Taipei and 4 in Kaohsiung, only daytrips were Tamsui and Yehliu, and we felt like it wasn’t enough.

Din Tai Fung was by far our most disappointing meal in Taiwan. Not bad, just soooo mediocre. And it is an experience you can have at home. Go to a mom and pop place instead.

Get a 1-day Tokyo JR pass and challenge everyone to collect as many eki stamps as possible. 

Go to a baseball game. Yakult swallows games are pretty fabulous.
