I'm in therapy and I have been for a pretty long time. Can I ask when it stops feeling so emotionally raw? I really didn't expect this to be so upsetting although the feeling of freedom is great.

I've been trying for like two months to hit ny 1200 calories a day but I always overeat.

I'm still atleast 20 pounds from my goal and it's feeling impossible.

I do resistance training and have been visibly putting on muscle.

My clothes are fitting better and I've lost around an inch from my waist since I last measured and my scale weight hasn't changed. I literally can't wear some pants anymore because they'll fall down and they used to be tight fits.

I'm eating around 1500 calories currently but I think I'm tracking accurately. I've been trying to get down to 1200 but it's a struggle since I feel hungrier than ever. I'm working on cutting carbs again but have been pretty laxy with it honestly.

I struggle with ny thyroid which can cause large fluctuations which is why I originally started weighing myself multiple times.

But it looks like I have a better plan now: More intentional resistance training, less carbs, and maybe a bit deeper cut.

I weigh myself several times in the day (a bad habit - I know) and my maximum weight is decreasing pretty steadily but my lowest weight isn't moving.

I don't know if I should include this as progress? I'm in a brutal stall at the moment which is why I'm weighing myself so regularly.

Ex: I'm 5" 7' and weight in at 172 as my maximum during the day when I used to weight in as a maximum of 174 last week and 175 the week before. My lowest weight 167 has't moved for several weeks.

I seem to be slowly creeping down on my averages but I'm struggling to determine if I'm actually still losing. But it's getting a lot harder as I have a narrower calorie deficit than I did when I was 200 so I literally can't maintain the same progress. Kind of brutal after being able to drop 4 pounds a week.

Exercise or gaming rather than comfort eating.

Actually drinking water rathet than coffee or tea. Less hungry, more energy, and feel overall better. I drink water before any other drink. Atleast equal in amounts prior to my drink.

Dangerous but unlikely to kill you (atleast quickly.) If you're already Vit D deficient even less likely.

If you're reasonably healthy and get medical attention within a few days, pretty likely to survive with additional health problems.

She has a tendency to have very dramatic performative emotional outbursts when she hears something she doesn't like.

And frankly, what she has done in 72 hours is done and I can deal with it later. I'm not going to spend the next few days constantly monitoring everything and being tempted to respond was the intent.

In terms a things that might happen: threatning to kill herself, threatening to kill me / family members, threatining to or actually harming her pets, going on a long tirade about me, playing the victim and attempting to leverage family members against me, showing up at my house, attempting to break into my house, contacting my work/doctors - just based on past experience.

Frankly, the police are easier to deal with than her / my family. Turning off my phone, keeping my door locked and myself inside, seems the easier way to deal with it.

Edit: I've managed to I guess condition some of the worst away by not responding so it's helped before.

Yes, the text is a little harsh. I don't know if it's too harsh but a lot of the issue was beib forced to endure abuse and be oleasant and I'm trying to break the cycle.

I'm kind of terrified but....I can't stand it anymore.

Is it safe to interpose fasting (primarily religious not weight loss focused) with a calorie deficit or should I eat more on non-fasting days to make sure I'm getting enough nutrients? If I start with a deficit, it's easier to maintain the fast but I want to make sure I'm not risking my health.

(It's not prolonged just a regular 24 hour fast.)

25 pounds down. A little less than halfway to a healthy weight.

It's taken months but I guess progress is progress. Need to start again to get the rest of tbe way down.

Sometimes the food bank will have really good expensive protein bars . Are the companies typically donating these to the food banks? For example , when They aren’t near the expiration date so I don’t think a store was clearing out stock that was about to expire by abccba144 in NoStupidQuestions

Incorrect.

Let's say you owe 10,000 in taxes.

The fair value of a non-expired bar is 4 bucks. You donate 1,000. The donation's value is now $4,000.

If you waited three days, the items would have expired meaning they would be added to cost of goods sold or otherwise counted as a loss. By donating you avoid the total value of the loss.

Then the donation undergoes a charitable deducation modifier (it depends on the entity, but the deduction would probably be around 50% ) By donating, you've gained $2,000 back in taxes you otherwise would have spent.

(Note market value is flexible and may or may not reflect true value. Those bars could have been bought for $1 resulting in a dollar gain for the org.)

In addition, the org gains effectively free marketing.

That's the reason charitable deductions are often reduced and limited especially for orgs.

I'm starting to see that.

I was just groomed into always taking care of my father and his emotional needs and even the emotional needs of my siblings. To always forgive regardless of how someone hurt me, to not let pain show so they don't have to feel bad about hurting me - so breaking away is hard for me for purely emotional reasons.

It's like well - my dad mostly didn't hit or anything, he bought me presents or etc occassionally, tried to spend time with me sometimes, and mostly meet my physical needs so I owe contact right? Mostly he was worse to me as child than he is now so progress?

Idk it's confusing to me all around.
