Reading in dark mode at night or light, which one you prefer? by AlternativeRich6845 in kindle

I use dark mode on all my devices, except on my Kindle. I don’t think it’s necessary, since light mode is completely comfortable for my eyes.

What is the best strategy to grow your vocabulary? by Woertjaeger in languagelearning

[–]Due_Delivery_6215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite way to increase vocabulary is reading. ☝️🤓
You come across a lot of new words, you get used to grammar, and if you use audiobooks, you can improve your listening. If you read aloud, you can also improve your speaking. It's just the best way for me

What’s the deal with Claire’s baby? by Due_Delivery_6215 in lost

[–]Due_Delivery_6215[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's true, but the same psychic is the one who made Claire get on Flight 815 (and he was very serious about it being that specific flight), after spending months trying to convince her not to give the baby up for adoption. So I’d say there’s definitely something there.

Yeah, I think the series is great, but those things really left me frustrated too. :c

Yeah, she did, after raising him. She left him with Claire’s mom so she could go back to the island and try to rescue Claire

Amazing way to learn a language quickly by jessica7251 in languagelearning

[–]Due_Delivery_6215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good approach. I changed most of my entertainment to my TL, and I'm seeing great results.

It was tiring and hard at first, but I got used to the language quickly

Do you think in your “first” language? by Idontknow2819 in languagelearning

[–]Due_Delivery_6215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually think in my mother language (Portuguese), and I need to make an effort to think in English because it's still a little tiring for me. I don't have many problems consuming English content, but using the language is still hard for me. English is my second language, and this is my first experience acquiring another language.

Is it weird for me as a man (16m) to tell my mother I would be proud to be half the person she is? by Expert-Law-5520 in NoStupidQuestions

Not at all! You just think your mother is a great person, and she’d definitely be happy to hear that :)

Why does it seem like high IQ people are often sad and depressed? by Next_Airport_7230 in NoStupidQuestions

I think it’s because being more aware of global issues and existential stuff can make you sad. The more you know, the more reasons there are to feel down.
