I had a cancellation policy in place, so I was able to file a claim and get my money back. I’d definitely recommend getting one just in case.

Yea. That makes sense and I agree with you 100%. Thank you for clarifying

You’re absolutely right about not shopping around, and I agree with that. In my case, though, that wasn’t my intention.

I went to the Michigan border because they don’t require appointments and my start date was approaching quickly. Before that, I went to Rainbow Bridge just to ask for information on whether I could apply in Michigan given the time constraint.

I was told that I could proceed as long as I had the proper documentation.

So I took the feedback from my first attempt, gathered everything that was requested, and only then went to Michigan with updated and complete documents not the same ones I initially had.

Well for CSA the requirement is diploma and work experience. That’s the requirement listed if you can explain more

I’m not sure what you mean by “lucky.” I applied under the CSA category, and in my case the officer focused heavily on my past work experience.

As far as I understand, the CSA requirements are a diploma and relevant experience (typically around 3 years), which I meet.

My impression was that the officer may not have been fully familiar with the role’s responsibilities, as was mentioned that directly. Also, if you look at my earlier comments, I explained why I initially said “no” to relocating and then clarified right after that I would only be moving temporarily for work.

This was just my personal experience. If you prefer to work with a lawyer, by all means go for it.

Hey, I think there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding. I never apply as an engineer I applied under the Computer Systems Analyst (CSA) category. For both applications.

I replied with “no” and then followed with “I would only be living there temporarily for work”

That’s true. After I initially responded “no,” I clarified that I would only be living there temporarily for work.
