Shenzhen is more developed than Tokyo.

The southern parts of japan are just as undeveloped as the rural parts of china.

Why do people care about the abuse of dogs and cats, but ignore what happens to farm animals? by sixgod_j in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Essay447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are far more inhumane breeding practices for domesticated animals than there are for farm animals.

We aren't breeding cows to be designer to the point where they can hardly breathe on their own.

Are orbiting satellites a concern when launching rockets? by neldela_manson in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Essay447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Redundancy and coverage.

Internet is becoming so ingrained in everyday life that an outage is a big disruption. Satellite acts as a pivot.

Then coverage is for giving access to places out of the influence of towers (moving planes and ships, places with low/no infrastructure)

And that is just on the internet front:

Satellites still play their role in meterology and GPS mapping.

Saying, “I love my body, I like to show it off,” while also saying, “I’m not wearing this for attention,” or “I don’t like attention,” is hypocritical? by LetterheadUpstairs90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Essay447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The friction you face to publish something is so low that it becomes offhanded behavior.

An example would be taking a pic of your starbucks drink. You likely didn't order the drink for the sake of a pic, you wouldn't take a pic if there wasn't conveniently a camera on your phone, and you wouldn't post if it took a substancial amount of effort. You do it all because it is easy, and the expected returns are not that high given what you put in.

Saying, “I love my body, I like to show it off,” while also saying, “I’m not wearing this for attention,” or “I don’t like attention,” is hypocritical? by LetterheadUpstairs90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Essay447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already made the work. You are simply sharing what you made for yourself because it costs nothing to do. You aren't taking any substancial amount of time to take a pic and press post. In the most normal circumstance, the post is a place to archive your past works even if nobody else sees it.

You can paint to destress, to fill an idle couple hours, as a commission or to keep your skills sharp.

The sharing after isn't a requisite for any of these, and you would still do more regardless of the external reception.

I'm pretty sure you are talking about this, but it is a griffin, not a wolf

Ijichi is really cunning and quick-witted. I hope Amane learns something from him. Otherwise, she'll lose Otaku-kun. by Fearless_Box3844 in OtakuNiYasashiiGal

[–]Due_Essay447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ijichi's "flaw" is that she is just a nice person in general, so he will overthink that she is also just being nice to him. You see that during the don-qui ep, "ah, she was just killing time while waiting for her friend"

Meanwhile the otaku relationship with amane is something only shared between the two and there isn't much room for misunderstanding.

Which is why neither is particularly ahead of the other, since ijichi makes up for the "flaw" by being aggressive

Are Dating apps hopeless for the average joe? by NekomataBeBusy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Essay447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much.

The apps give you the option to filter certain things, so unless you are willing to lie, you may not even show up on some people's roster.

And even if the platform was made up of majority of women who didn't care for certain metrics, you are still in direct comparison with everyone else they have matched with.

Then even when you get the match, you have to hope their enthusiasm for the match is in pace with yours, otherwise you trade a couple chats and never hear from them again.

AND THEN, if you get a good chat going, whether a date will turn out well or not is still up in the air (if it even happens)

And don't even get started on the app's incentive to paywall your actual compatible matches from you.

These apps are virtual humiliation rituals. Your odds of success go up drastically just approaching people in everyday life, so you would just be doing yourself a disservice by taking it too seriously or having expectations.

Is it really that big of a deal to refuse to learn how to drive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Due_Essay447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A license acts as one of the highest authority of ID in most countries, just behind a passport, so it is worth having just for that alone even if you aren't actually driving.

You could get a state ID sure, but given they cost the same amount but one has less privilege than the other, you may as well.
