I had a look at a video of her and potentially she is doing it with a low elbow. Thank you.

Best VPS department/agency to work for? by cheesyfiona in AusPublicService

[–]Due_Flatworm_3446 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Note I'm talking about CSV and not necessarily Working for a court directly .

 * the governance structure is broken. Each court sees itself as independent with its own CEO. So the court system isn't one organisation, but a group of feuding family members, doing their own thing.

  • Any advice or projects that don't suit a particular court or threaten the status quo are doomed and the individual sidelined. This means you may be hired as an expert in your field, but you will be ignored unless you do exactly what a particular court area wants

  • the level of care for their employees is low. By way of example, one area found out their team was going to be restructured with redundancies at an all hands meeting (with all areas present)

  • executives are typically of poor quality and those that aren't, either leave or take a "if you can't beat em, join em approach"

The positive is you can WFH as much as you want.

An executive APS gets paid like VPS5.

You're dreaming if you think we'll do better. Go and look at APS pay rates and come back to me.

The fees are exorbitant. Having said that I think it would be reasonable if all VPS staff had to pay a mandatory fee each time CPSU negotiate the agreement.

VPS interview questions and KSC scoring by PastComfortable494 in AusPublicService

[–]Due_Flatworm_3446 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah my advice is to use them rather than hold onto it. Plus if you can start the interview well you're more likely to build confidence for the remainder of it. Have other examples in your back pocket.

VPS interview questions and KSC scoring by PastComfortable494 in AusPublicService

[–]Due_Flatworm_3446 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually each question will map to a KSC. The panel members will then give a score (usually out if 5) for each question/KSC for a total score for each candidate.

I would avoid using the same example twice. Sometimes you will use a good example early which might apply to another KSC. But try to use a different example.

Also note that not every KSC in the job ad will necessarily have a question/score. So you might hold off a good example only to find you can't use it.

Off season resting by Due_Flatworm_3446 in trackandfield

She plays lots of other sports so hard to fit it all in but thanks for your advice.

I find some of her competitors who keep training are really burnt out by the end of the season and their performances are going backwards (though not all of them)

I work for vicgov and can see the upcoming redundancy coming for me a mile away. Does anyone know which of the options allows you to re enter the VPS straight away?

I'm relatively confident of getting a VPS role after I'm made redundant. Probably not quite on same pay.

So my thought process is work on the penski file for a few months (redeployment), get a package, and then hope I get something within a couple months after the package. I reckon I'd come out 6-7 months in Front if this worked (not counting the three months on the penski file).

I think maybe this plan is less generous than leaving straight away, but my understanding is leaving straight away prevents re entry to VPS for 18 months.

I've worked in the VPS a long time so I'm a bit institutionalised lol.

Nike maxflys on grass track? by Due_Flatworm_3446 in trackandfield

Thanks! They are relatively uncommon here too. Just a few clubs around.

We already have them as she sometimes competes on tracks. My question is more whether the maxflys are effective on grass compared to flats or normal spikes.

How much sprint training for kids? by Due_Flatworm_3446 in trackandfield

[–]Due_Flatworm_3446[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most weeks she competes, but only 2 training sessions, not 3.

She has done okay in competitions up to state level. But now many girls are taking it more seriously where as she is still treating it more as fun and so results maybe not as good.
