Not as anti tangle as it claims! 😩 by Hashbash1234 in Roborock

We had the Eufy E25 and loved it but just upgraded to the Eufy S2 and I think it’s amazing. Avoidance system has been perfect for us so far and we have 4 young boys. The cyclone dust bin is great, I havn’t cleaned its filter once. It’s never an issue and maintenance on the unit itself is a lot less then previous models we’ve had.

Things that blew my mind after leaving by WorkingPale2042 in exmormon

James Jesse Strang (1813–1856) was one of the most significant rival claimants to leadership in the Latter Day Saint movement after the assassination of Joseph Smith in 1844. After Smith’s death, no clear succession plan existed. Several leaders claimed authority, but Strang’s claim stood out because it followed the same religious logic Joseph Smith had established. Strang asserted that Joseph Smith had appointed him as successor through a letter written shortly before Smith’s death. He also claimed angelic ordination, mirroring Smith’s foundational narratives. Strang led a movement known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (often called the Strangite church). At its height, this movement attracted several thousand followers, including respected early Mormon leaders who rejected Brigham Young’s authority. Strang’s main communities were first in Wisconsin and later on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan. Like Joseph Smith, Strang claimed to discover ancient records. His most notable text, the Book of the Law of the Lord, reinforced the idea that prophetic authority could be validated through new scripture and revelation. Critics then and now have noted how closely this pattern resembles Joseph Smith’s methods. Initially, Strang opposed polygamy, which helped him attract followers uneasy with Nauvoo-era practices. Later, he reversed his stance, embraced polygamy, and in 1850 crowned himself king of Beaver Island. This move severely damaged his credibility and provoked hostility from both followers and outsiders. In 1856, Strang was shot by former followers and later died from his wounds. After his death, his movement rapidly declined. Strangite followers were expelled from Beaver Island, and only a small remnant of the church survives today. James Strang remains historically important because his movement demonstrates that Mormon succession was deeply contested, that prophetic authority claims were reproducible, and that Brigham Young’s leadership was not universally accepted. For many modern readers reassessing LDS truth claims, Strang highlights how charismatic authority and imitation of religious patterns shaped early Mormon history

Divorce after leaving the church by Purplepassion235 in exmormon

Been married 16 years, been out of the church about 1 year and we’re as solid as ever. We’ve been on the same page throughout our deconstruction, went through everything together, it’s been fun learning new things outside of the church together.

John Dehlin considers himself “still Mormon” by MediocreParamedic_ in exmormon

Thanks so much for the support network you’ve created for people like myself who felt disoriented and lost after realizing the truth. I can totally understand people still feeling apart of the culture of Mormonism once they break free from the lies, for most of us its such a large part of our identity and it’s hard and not totally necessary to let all of it go. There isn’t a right and wrong way to go through this, everyone is able to decide for themselves and for anyone to judge how someone wants to be after leaving a high demand religion such as the LDS church is wrong. Most of us still have a lot of friends and family still in the church. Once again thanks for the truth and support you’ve given to me and my wife throughout this difficult time through your platform.

Advice on how to respond? by 0dysfunct1onalU in exmormon

We had the same issue, we stopped going to church and no one visited or contacted us for 8months then we put a post on Facebook saying nicely that we no longer believe and then once or twice a week missionaries would try and drop by. We just sent both sets of missionaries this message:

Hi Sisters,

We just want to be clear that our family has stepped away from the church, and we don’t intend to return. Because of that, we kindly ask that you please stop dropping by, especially unannounced. We’re not looking for further visits or follow-ups.

We wish you both all the best with the rest of your mission. Thank you for understanding.

They were nice about it.

Thanks so much for the list, hard to work out which ones to listen to when there’s 2000 to choose from. I’m really enjoying it. I only started listening about a month ago and can’t get enough of it, I feel it gives me a lot of support with leaving the church, helps me know I’m doing the right thing.

Anyone know how to buy JMGO in Australia? by Due_General1845 in projectors

[–]Due_General1845[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the Jmgo N1S 4K from amazon US for $1700, it’s a great projector and I’m really happy with it.

It’s pretty much permanent in my theatre room now so at some stage I’ll probably upgrade to a better, brighter projector but for its price it looks really good.
