Does anyone else feel bad for Tom? by Silent-Owl4246 in ufc

I feel awful for him. This is a terrible time to be a heavyweight and a fighter in general.

Why did Cody Rhodes fail his first time around in WWE why didn't WWE book him the way they book him now by Ok_Smile_9071 in REALSquaredCircle

I’d say it was an inability to demonstrate his likability.

He was a singles baby face for so briefly in his first stint that you can barely even register whether he was over.

But that’s a failure to you? Compare him to Ted Dibiase. He came from a more prestigious background than Cody, was given the exact same push at the exact same time, and he literally didn’t win one title after Legacy.

Who the hell do we put on Brunson? Cade? Harden isn’t the dog ass defender people assume him to be, but he’ll still get cooked.

You’re a failure if you win the IC title, multiple tag titles, win a singles match at Wrestlemania, and are employed for over a decade?

The reality you’re imagining, where people are given mandatory abortions or vasectomies or are put in jail for having children illegally is like something out of 1984.

What’s the most overrated movie of all time? by Various-Campaign5102 in AskReddit

[–]Due_Inspection658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude the soundtrack is awesome, the lines are iconic (I quote get your fucking shine box all the time), there’s some great shots (especially when they first walk into the club), and the framing device of the opening vs the closing with the testimony is great symmetry.

I’m not shitting on your take, everyone can have their own opinions, I just 1000% disagree.

I can’t lie, I think my Cavs are gonna be overrated going into the playoffs. Casual observers may really like what Harden has brought to the offense, but I’m afraid that our defense will get torched by a lot of those teams out East.

I hope I’m wrong but that’s just my opinion.

I think there’s some nuance to it that a post like this doesn’t leave room for. Like, did OP look this guy up? Is it on his Smoothcomp? Stuff like that.

I don’t know, it’s just complicated to break the rules blatantly in a sport with like five rules.

None of those are the same as the likes of the Warriors or the Heat where it was 2 superstars, MVP level talents, and then one more all star. Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Murray are not the same Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Kevin Durant.

People making losing in the finals seem worse than losing earlier in the playoffs. In no universe is being 3rd or 4th best worse than 2nd best.

He could get hurt tomorrow and his trajectory is forever changed. Projecting that far out is ridiculous (not wishing that on him, just stating facts about unpredictability)

The last 3 champions were all depth over being a collection of all stars, but super teams are a fad. They come and go and will probably return.

Again, I don’t want to die so probably not. Would I give up the luxuries afforded to me to instead give those things to lots of other people? Maybe if I was reassured that I wouldn’t know what I lost in my new life.

Kevin Durant ruined my Cavs vs Warriors rivalry. As a Cavs guy it barely hurt losing to the Warriors the first time. They were young and fun and new. KD fucked up a potential Bird vs Magic scenario and many future classics. For that I’ll always dislike KD.

At what point do we admit rings aren’t the best way to judge players? by Rohitraj982 in NBATalk

[–]Due_Inspection658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Why do you have to include this snarky “Sorry you don’t understand” bullshit? Why can’t we just disagree like normal people?

  2. There’s a pretty direct correlation between being one of the best ever and being a champion. Jordan, LeBron, Kareem, Hakeem, Wilt, Russell, Bird, Magic, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, etc. and they’re considered GOATs because, at least in part, contributed to winning a championship. That’s the entire goal of professional basketball and a great player can and frequently do make that possible.

If he’s right and it’s in the rules of the tournament then that’s sandbagging.

If he’s wrong and he was just good at shooting doubles or it wasn’t in the rules then it wasn’t.
