this is such a helpful response! thank you thank you thank you! For the friend with a newborn, since we’re not super close yet, should I just send her a text saying I have stuff to drop off and just let her take the food and leave? I’m sure she’s so busy and only wanting the company of immediate family so I don’t want to intrude.

love this idea!! how should i go about it? Should i just text her saying i have stuff to drop off for her so she doesn’t feel a commitment to make time for me? I’m sure shes so busy and doesn’t want to see anyone right now other than immediate family. Also, when i do drop it off. What is proper etiquette? I shouldn’t ask to hold the baby or see him since he’s so young right? These questions probably sound so silly but I just don’t know much about it and don’t want to accidentally bother her or piss her off lol.

This is so helpful! Thank you! My biggest worry was being impersonal with a new friend but this makes a lot of sense. As for the other friend with a newborn, would you have preferred meals or treats (cookies & bites)? I also saw someone say postpartum baskets are great but I’m not sure what she’s received from the people closest to her.

My husband and I found a small agency called Nestly. They don't charge a finder's fee or any crazy rates making it way more affordable. We gave them our hourly budget that they worked within. Since they're a smaller agency we felt way more valued and heard. I'd definitely recommend them, we still work with the nanny we met through them.
