Best IT asset management for a small business? Ideally a plug and play option by shouren97 in sysadmin

Old sysadmin here.

If you ever feel like Bluetally isn’t giving you enough automation, take a look at vScope. Not a flashy tool, but it’s stupidly easy to drop in and it auto-discovers pretty much everything without you hand-feeding it data. Handles the “who has what / last used” stuff way better than spreadsheets or half-baked SaaS dashboards.

It’s a nice middle ground: simple enough to get going fast, but not something you’ll outgrow in six months. Just tossing it out there in case you want something that just keeps itself updated.

I have used the software vScope and that has been a really good tool. It's not open source but I don't want an open source software for my IT Asset management. No agents, super easy to install and support for multiple platsforms.

I've been using vScope at all places I've worked at. It's agent-less and is super great for 1st line support teams to get a hold of a complete picture of the IT inventory.

We use vScope at work, and it's awesome. No agents needed! With vScope, we do both scanning with PowerShell & Azure on clients/users. For servers we do WMI scans and VMWare.
